A bunch of Samsung phones are getting One UI 9 with Android 17! Is your model on the list?

For owners of Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, foldable Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, as well as Galaxy A56, the wait for the final version of the new system is over. Samsung has concluded the beta test and started releasing stable One UI 9.0 based on Android 17. However, for now, it’s only reaching phones in South Korea, and for the S23 series, it’s first available to those who participated in the beta program.

Korea first, beta testers at the front of the line

For the trio of Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, the update is being released with firmware S91xNKSU8GZIF. Units from the Korean beta program are receiving it first. Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are also getting the stable version first in South Korea.

The Galaxy A56 has transitioned to stable One UI 9.0 after approximately a month-long beta test. The firmware is labeled A566SKSUADZJ1, and owners of this phone are upgrading from One UI 8.5. The package size for the A56 is not yet known.

Under 500 MB, or around 3 GB

The size of the downloaded file depends on whether the Galaxy S23 owner tested the beta version. Those who were in the program will only download 483.81 MB, as they already have most of the changes on their phone. Others will receive the complete package, which is around 3 GB.

Most users did not try the beta, so it’s good to have Wi-Fi ready and enough free space on the phone. Such a volume will be noticeable on mobile data.

Customizable Quick Panel and more Gemini

The most visible change comes with the quick panel. Samsung has expanded its customization options, allowing individual elements to be easily enlarged and reduced, and the panel to be laid out according to what a person actually uses.

Other new features concern Samsung DeX mode, the Samsung Notes app, and accessibility functions. A new privacy indicator for location usage, new AI features, and tighter integration with Gemini have also been added.

When the update will arrive outside Korea

The exact date for Europe or the Czech Republic is not yet known. SamMobile expects expansion to other regions within a few days. Android Headlines, based on Samsung’s current pace, estimates that the update will be available in many other markets in about a week.

The phone will notify you of the new version automatically. If you don’t want to wait, you can manually check for availability in Settings > Software Update. This also applies to the Galaxy A56, for which Samsung, according to current practices, also expects other countries to receive it in the coming days.
