This power bank has never dropped below five hundred CZK on Alza before. In April, it was just a few crowns short, but now the barrier has finally been broken. The ChoeTech B730 with a capacity of 30,000 mAh costs 467 CZK with code ALZADNY40 instead of 779 CZK. Users generally praise it in reviews, boasting a rating of 4.6 out of 5 based on over four hundred reviews.

Quick summary:
✅ It makes sense if you want as much power as possible for as little money as possible for a cottage, festival, tent, or as a backup in case of a power outage.
⚠️ Consider that it weighs 607 g and charges slowly itself, according to one buyer, easily six to seven hours.
💡 For 467 CZK, you are buying it on Alza for the first time under five hundred, with a 40% discount from the pre-promotion price.

In April it cost 506 CZK, now you can get it for 467 CZK

When we wrote about this power bank in April, it cost 506 CZK with the then-current code, missing the five hundred mark by just a bit. The current code ALZADNY40 brings it down to 467 CZK, so you save 312 CZK, or 40%. Alza also displays the HlídačShopů label “We agree on the discount” for it, according to which the discount is calculated from the price at which the power bank was actually sold.

To give you an idea of how low that is: a similarly equipped 30,000mAh power bank from Vention, which we wrote about a few days ago, could be purchased on sale for 559 CZK. The ChoeTech has the same capacity, three ports, and a display, and comes out almost a hundred CZK cheaper.

Three ports and a display with precise percentages

The power bank has two USB-A outputs with up to 22.5 W of power and one USB-C with 20 W. This allows you to charge a phone, watch, and headphones simultaneously, but keep in mind that when all three ports are connected, the total power output drops to 15 W, according to Alza. The USB-C also serves as an input for charging the power bank itself, and a cable is included in the package. However, don’t rely on it for charging a laptop, as 20 W via USB-C is usually not enough for that.

On the front, there’s a display that shows the remaining power precisely in percentages. This is more convenient than guessing based on four LEDs, although one buyer points out that the numbers only light up in a small window, and the rest of the area is more for show.

How much of the 30,000 mAh you actually get into your phone is well illustrated by customer experiences. For one of them, charging an iPhone 12 Pro from 40 to 90% took approximately 9% of the power bank’s capacity, while an iPad from 20 to 80% took about a quarter. Another takes it to a cottage without electricity and says it can easily handle a weekend with three phones, a speaker, and a trail camera.

607 grams belong in a backpack, not a pocket

That much energy doesn’t fit into a small body. The B730 weighs 607 grams, so you won’t be carrying it in your jeans pocket. A carrying handle helps, allowing you to hang it on a backpack or inside a tent. A buyer who previously tried the 50,000mAh version ultimately kept this one because the larger one felt like a heavy brick.

The price for such a large capacity is also the slow charging of the power bank itself. One buyer quotes an input power of 18 W from the manual, while another reports that it takes six to seven hours to charge from completely empty. The easiest solution is to leave it on the charger overnight.

And be careful with airplanes. A capacity of 30,000 mAh corresponds to approximately 111 Wh, which is above the 100 Wh limit that airlines typically allow without further approval. Therefore, you can usually only take it in your carry-on luggage with the carrier’s consent, and it’s best to verify this before your trip.

Most users recommend the power bank

On Alza, the power bank has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 405 reviews, 88% of customers recommend it, and over 2,000 units have been sold. Alza considers the 1.8% return rate to be low. However, the rating is shared with other capacities in the series, including the smaller and larger siblings of the B730. Buyers most often praise the capacity, clear display, and price-to-performance ratio.

The most discussion in reviews is sparked by the allegedly scratched display. Some returned the power bank immediately because of it, but others correct that the scratches are only on a thin protective film that just needs to be peeled off. So, before you make a complaint, try lifting the edge of the film with your fingernail first.

Among the more serious criticisms, it is repeatedly mentioned that the included cable cannot handle maximum power, so it’s worth getting your own for faster charging. A few people noticed that the area around the display heats up during fast charging via USB-C. Occasionally, defective units appear that stopped charging or had something loose inside. However, given the low return rate, these are more likely exceptions.

Who should look elsewhere?

Are you looking for a power bank to carry in your pocket or purse every day? Then the B730 will likely annoy you, and a smaller and lighter model would be a better choice. Anyone who wants to charge a laptop from a power bank needs a more powerful USB-C, such as the 50,000mAh ChoeTech PD65W. And if your phone is used to fast charging with significantly higher power, expect it to charge noticeably slower from the B730 than from its original charger.

At 467 CZK, it’s an easy decision

The ChoeTech B730 is not light, fast, or worry-free for airplanes. But it’s large, inexpensive, and buyers generally rate it well. For 467 CZK with code ALZADNY40, I would take it as a backup power source for a drawer in case of a power outage and a companion for a cottage, festival, or tent. Everyone else will get the cheapest ticket to 30,000 mAh for 467 CZK that Alza has offered for this model so far.

Is 467 CZK for 30,000 mAh a low enough price for you, or will you wait to see if it drops even lower?
