A large OLED TV for 24 thousand! The LG B5 originally cost over 50, has a 120Hz refresh rate and a great operating system

The idea that OLED is an unattainable luxury no longer holds true. The LG OLED65B56 has just dropped to 23,990 CZK after entering the code ALZADNY15 – more than half below its launch price from spring this year. For a 65″ OLED with full gaming features, it is one of the most aggressive price tags for the 2025 model year that can be found in the Czech Republic right now.

Why the B-series

LG has a hierarchy in its OLED offering that slightly rearranges each year. The B-series is the metaphorical entry ticket to the OLED world – it shares the same self-illuminating pixel principle with its more expensive siblings (and thus perfect blacks without backlighting), but saves on brightness and processor. Specifically, the OLED65B56 received the alpha 8 AI Gen2 instead of the top alpha 11 from the C-series. In practice, this means that upscaling older broadcasts or HDR tone mapping won’t be absolutely top-notch, but the difference will be noticed mainly by those who have something to compare it with.

What, on the other hand, remains fully featured: complete gaming equipment. The TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports, supports a 120Hz native refresh rate, VRR, ALLM, NVIDIA G-Sync, and AMD FreeSync Premium. For PS5, Xbox Series X, or a gaming PC, it is one of the best-equipped TVs in this price range.

WebOS, Magic Remote controller, and a few reservations

The WebOS system is among the best you’ll find on the smart TV market today – there are plenty of apps (Oneplay, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Prima+, and more), control is fast, and LG promises four major system updates over five years, which is not a given for TVs. The included Magic Remote controller functions as an air mouse, and after a few days of getting used to it, it’s not a bad way to navigate.

However, from reviews on Alza, two recurring warnings are worth mentioning. The Magic Remote controller might not suit everyone – older users in the family often have trouble with it. And WebOS, by default, displays ads on the home screen, which can be turned off (not entirely user-friendly). The sound from the 20W speakers is sufficient for regular viewing, but for a movie with a dynamic mix, we recommend purchasing a soundbar – it will make sense for a 65″ TV eventually anyway.

Verdict: the cheapest 65″ OLED in the Czech Republic

The price of 23,990 CZK places the LG OLED65B56 among the trio of the cheapest 65″ OLED TVs on the Czech market – alongside the Samsung QE65S85F and Philips 65OLED770.
