A powerful Hama power bank has arrived at Alza. It has a power output of up to 200 W and a practical display

Laptop at fifteen percent, phone in the red, and a quarter of an hour until the train departs. This is exactly what the new Hama High Power power bank, which has just arrived at Alza, aims to be for such moments. At the time of writing, it costs 2,290 CZK and, in addition to its 24,000 mAh capacity, it mainly boasts a total output of up to 200 W. According to the manufacturer, it can even handle gaming laptops.

Quick summary:
✅ It makes sense if you carry a laptop with you and don’t want to look for an outlet while traveling.
⚠️ Consider that at 639 grams, it’s one of the heavier pieces, and customer reviews are still missing.
💡 For 2,290 CZK you get 24,000 mAh, three outputs, and a display showing the power of individual ports.

Power is divided among three outputs

The power bank offers two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. As Hama points out on its website, the laptop receives the highest power when connected to the power bank alone via USB-C. How many watts actually flow into it also depends on what the laptop itself and the cable can handle. Once you connect two devices via USB-C, the power is split to 100 W for each. When all three ports are occupied, you get 100 W and 65 W from USB-C and 18 W from USB-A.

Even so, it can charge a laptop, tablet, and phone simultaneously. It should have no trouble with fast charging phones of various brands. Hama also considers small electronics: for headphones or smartwatches, it has a special low-current mode to prevent premature charging cutoff. According to Hama, many other power banks cannot do this.

Display shows percentages and watts for each port

You don’t have to guess how much power is left in the power bank. The color display shows the remaining capacity in percentages and the power of each port in watts, as well as the total power. This way, you’ll immediately know if your laptop is charging at full capacity or just maintaining its current state.

The power bank can charge connected devices even while it is being recharged from the mains itself. According to the manufacturer, it charges to full in 2.1 hours if you use a sufficiently powerful adapter. The package includes a 50cm USB-C cable. Its dimensions are 160 × 56 × 56 mm and its weight is 639 g, so you probably won’t slip it into a jacket pocket.

If large power banks appeal to you, also check out the Xiaomi Power Bank Pro 25000 with 250 W output. However, that one is currently only sold in China.

Who will benefit and who will save

The Hama High Power is primarily aimed at people who work from a train, airport, or cafe and need to charge their laptop without an outlet. It also makes sense for festivals or cabins, where you can charge a phone, Bluetooth speaker, and smartwatch simultaneously from one power bank. No one has rated it on Alza yet; at the same 2,290 CZK, Hama’s e-shop also sells it at the time of writing.

Anyone who only charges a phone and headphones will be paying 2,290 CZK for power they won’t use. For such users, a smaller and lighter power bank at a fraction of the price will be more than sufficient.

Is a regular power bank enough for your travels, or do you need one that can power a laptop too?
