Now it seems that the new product will indeed arrive on the Czech market. It is starting to appear in the catalogs of domestic retailers, and according to available information, it should cost 9,990 CZK. This is more than double the price of the Smart Purifier 6 model, which you can buy on Alza for 4,299 CZK. Is the surcharge worth it? Performance for large spaces Dual filtration and UVC disinfection Six sensors for complete monitoring Is it worth it compared to the cheaper model? Performance for large spaces The Mijia Smart Air Purifier Max targets owners of larger apartments and houses. The purifier achieves a CADR of 1006.5 m³/h for particles, which in practice means that it can clean a 10m² children’s room in just 1.6 minutes. The recommended covered area ranges from 63 to 108 m², so it can handle a spacious living room or an open-plan office. For comparison: the Smart Purifier 6 model offers a CADR of 443 m³/h and effectively covers 29 to 50 m². The Max therefore has more than double the performance, which also corresponds to double the price. Dual filtration and UVC disinfection For the Max model, Xiaomi opted for a tower design with a single fan and two impellers that drive air through both the upper and lower filters simultaneously. Each filter contains 300,000 mg of activated carbon for capturing formaldehyde and other harmful gases. The CADR value for formaldehyde is 240.5 m³/h, with the manufacturer stating 99% removal in 2 hours. Unlike the cheaper Smart Purifier 6 model, which has one UV-C module, the new Max features two built-in UVC modules. According to laboratory tests, the device removes 99.9% of the H1N1 virus, E. coli bacteria, or Staphylococcus aureus in one hour. Six sensors for complete monitoring The Max purifier monitors air quality using six sensors measuring PM1, PM2.5, PM10, formaldehyde, temperature, and humidity. The measured values are displayed on a large LCD screen directly on the device body. The Smart Purifier 6 model offers five sensors – compared to the Max version, it lacks a dedicated formaldehyde sensor, which it replaces with a general dust sensor. In night mode, the Max model achieves a noise level of just 19.1 dB(A), which is comparable to a quiet whisper. Is it worth it compared to the cheaper model? The Smart Purifier 6 for 3,999 CZK represents a reasonable choice for apartments and houses with a living area of up to 50 m². It offers solid five-layer filtration, UV-C disinfection, and complete smart features. If you have a standard 2+1 or 3+1 apartment, this model will be more than sufficient. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier Max for 9,990 CZK will make sense for spaces over 60 m², where a smaller purifier would not be able to circulate air effectively. Dual filtration with double the amount of activated carbon will also be appreciated by those dealing with formaldehyde after renovation or who have multiple sources of odors in their home. Two UVC modules instead of one can then be decisive for allergy sufferers or during flu epidemics. From a purely economic perspective, the 6,000 CZK surcharge is reasonable – for double the price, you get more than double the performance, better formaldehyde filtration, and doubled disinfection. However, if your living area does not exceed 50 m², you would be unnecessarily paying for capacity you won’t use. Would you buy an air purifier for almost 10 thousand CZK?
