A desk lamp takes up space and shines where it shouldn’t. A monitor light solves this – it illuminates the keyboard and desk, but not the display. AlzaPower LML-120 is Alza’s own product, which has built a solid reputation in a year and a half on the market.

The long metal body (51 cm) fits monitors with a diagonal of 22–34″. You can set the color temperature from 3000 K (warm evening light) to 6500 K (cool for maximum concentration). A color rendering index of CRI > 95 means almost undistorted colors – important for working with photos or graphics.

You can control it with buttons on the light or with a rotary remote control. It also features automatic brightness adjustment according to ambient lighting and a two-hour timer. One controller can be paired with two lights – which is practical for a dual monitor setup.

Power is supplied via USB (1.5m cable included in the package), meaning the light turns on and off with the computer. The LED lifespan is 25,000 hours.

What 106 customers say

Rating 4.7 out of 5, over 2000 units sold, and a complaint rate of only 0.53%. One reviewer summarizes it: “The price-to-performance ratio here is absolutely OK. The BenQ ScreenBar Halo2 costs more than three times as much.”

Easy installation, quality illumination without reflections on the monitor, and adjustability are praised. “Absolutely amazing, I replaced my side lamp and this solution is unbeatable,” writes another customer.

The main criticism is directed at the controller – it works reliably, but feels plasticky and light. “I feel like I should have bought a BenQ for a significantly higher price,” admits one reviewer, but adds that these are “first world problems.”

Be careful with monitors with thin bezels – the mount may interfere with the image (users report 1–10 mm). Some solve this by placing cardboard underneath or 3D printing their own extension. For one customer, the mount even pressed directly on the panel.

The original price was 1,699 CZK, with discount code ALZADNY20 you can get the light for 1,359 CZK. Batteries for the controller are included, but a power adapter is not (a USB port is sufficient). For one-third the price of premium brands, you get 95% of the functionality – just measure your monitor’s bezel thickness beforehand.

Do you use a monitor light, or is a classic desk lamp enough for you?
