While the 4G version of Redmi 15C has been available in the Czech Republic for some time, starting from 2,699 CZK, a more interesting 5G variant has appeared in several European countries. It brings a significantly more modern chipset, but also a few compromises. Let’s see if it’s worth waiting for.

Dimensity 6300 instead of the old Helio

The main change is, of course, the processor. Instead of the 12nm Helio G81 Ultra, the 5G variant received the 6nm Dimensity 6300. This isn’t just a number on paper – a more modern manufacturing process means lower power consumption and better performance. The processor combines two powerful Cortex-A76 cores (2.4 GHz) with six efficient A55 cores (2.0 GHz). Graphics are handled by Mali-G57 MC2.

In practice, this means the phone will be snappier in everyday use and will last similarly long on battery. For comparison – the 4G version with Helio G81 is based on outdated 12nm technology, which originated back when 5G was sci-fi.

Same battery, but heavier phone

The Redmi 15C 5G retained its 6000mAh battery with 33W charging, which is great news. The downside is that the phone has grown in all directions. Instead of 205 grams, it weighs 211 grams, and with dimensions of 173.2 × 81.0 × 8.2 mm, it is slightly bulkier than the 4G version.

The display remained the same – a 6.9-inch LCD with 720p+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. In this price range, it’s still a solid panel, although sharpness could be better. The IP64 protection against dust and splashing water also remained.

Features without surprises

The camera remained exactly the same – a 50Mpx main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8Mpx selfie camera. Both record video at a maximum of Full HD at 30 fps. No wide-angle lens or macro is present, which is not surprising at this price point.

There are two memory configurations: 4/128 GB and 4/256 GB. Unfortunately, it uses slower LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage, but at least you can add a microSD card. Also present are a 3.5mm jack, FM radio, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. NFC is only available in some regions.

How much will it cost?

In Spain, the 5G version sells for approximately 20 euros more than the 4G model. If Xiaomi maintained a similar price difference here, we could expect a price of around 3,300 CZK for the base version.

The 5G variant of Redmi 15C is currently sold in Poland, France, Spain, and Hungary. Given that Redmi phones regularly come to the Czech Republic, it is likely that the 5G version will appear here soon as well.
