Xiaomi continues to expand its most affordable model series and has globally introduced the Redmi A7 Pro. The new device builds on the foundations of the successful Redmi A5 model, which sells for less than two thousand in our country, but adds several improvements including a larger display and a significantly more capacious battery. Interestingly, the phone runs on HyperOS 3 right out of the box, making it one of the first models with this version of the overlay.

Giant display with 120Hz refresh rate

The Redmi A7 Pro primarily impresses with its 6.9″ screen, which is among the largest in this price category. It is an LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels and support for a 120Hz refresh rate, which will make scrolling in applications feel smoother. The maximum brightness is 800 nits in HBM mode, which should ensure decent readability even outdoors in the sun.

Also worth mentioning is the triple TÜV Rheinland certification, which includes blue light protection, flicker elimination, and circadian rhythm support. Xiaomi has also integrated Wet Touch 2.0 technology, which allows the display to be controlled even with wet fingers.

Battery for more than two days

The main draw of the Redmi A7 Pro is undoubtedly its 6,000mAh battery. Xiaomi states that the phone can handle up to 2.37 days of typical use, 49 hours of calls, or 35 hours of video playback. Charging occurs at 15 W, which is certainly not fast, but it’s not a surprise for a phone in this price range.

Under the hood, an octa-core UNISOC T7250 processor, manufactured with a 12nm process, is ticking. In the AnTuTu benchmark, it achieves a score of approximately 397,000 points. Configurations of 4 + 64 GB and 4 + 128 GB are available with LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage.

In short, the phone will be weaker in terms of performance. It will be suitable for web browsing, social media, or playing undemanding games. It will not be sufficient for more complex multitasking, sophisticated video editing, or playing complex video game titles at high details.

HyperOS 3 and Google Gemini

The Redmi A7 Pro is one of the first phones with pre-installed Xiaomi HyperOS 3. The system brings an improved user interface, including the HyperIsland feature (inspired by the iPhone’s Dynamic Island) and support for connecting with other Xiaomi devices. The manufacturer also states 48 months of software support ensuring smooth system operation.

Surprisingly, advanced AI features are also present. The phone supports the Google Gemini assistant, the Circle to Search feature for searching objects on the screen, and AI Sky for editing the sky in photos.

Cameras and other equipment

On the rear, we find a 13Mpx main camera with a 1/3.06″ sensor and an aperture of f/2.2, complemented by an auxiliary sensor. The front 8Mpx camera handles selfies and video calls. Both cameras record video at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30 fps.

Other specifications include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, NFC (in some regions), a 3.5mm jack, a microSD card slot, and dual SIM support. The phone weighs 208 grams and has a thickness of 8.15 mm. Four colors are available: Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange.

Expected price and availability

According to earlier leaks, the Redmi A7 Pro should cost 129 euros in Europe for the basic 64GB version. If the phone also reaches the Czech market, its price could range around 3,000 to 3,500 Czech crowns. It should be available soon.

For this price, you get a phone with a giant display and an extremely large battery, suitable for undemanding users who prioritize endurance over performance. The absence of 5G connectivity, a weak processor, and slower charging are compromises that must be considered in this price category.
