The second significant change is the transition from Lightning to USB-C. Adaptive Audio automatically adjusts the level of noise cancellation according to the environment – behaving differently in a quiet office than in a noisy cafe. Conversation Awareness recognizes when you start speaking, automatically lowers playback volume, and amplifies voices in front of you. After the conversation ends, the volume returns to its original level.

For Apple Intelligence users, there’s Instant Translation – a feature that allows real-time communication across languages. Voice Isolation during calls prioritizes your voice and suppresses ambient noise. Also included is Siri communication via nodding or shaking your head – allowing you to respond to notifications without saying anything.

Sound and Design: What Remained, What Improved

Apple retained the iconic design with a breathable mesh headband and acoustic memory foam ear cushions. The rotating earcups made of anodized aluminum adapt to the shape of the head. Control is provided by the Digital Crown – rotate to adjust volume, press to control playback or answer calls. The weight is 386.2 g.
