Mall.cz via Allegro has reached a price of 4 990 Kč, which is the lowest current price for the latest generation of Apple’s Pro headphones from an official seller in the Czech Republic.

What the new generation adds

The most interesting new feature is integrated heart rate monitoring. AirPods Pro 3 have a new optical sensor in the earbud that, when paired with an Apple Watch or iPhone, measures heart rate during exercise – for runners who have long sought an alternative to smartwatches, this is an interesting step forward. Active noise cancellation is twice as effective as with Pro 2 and, according to reviews, reliably silences office environments, public transport, and airplanes. Battery life has increased to 8 hours with active ANC (from 6 hours with Pro 2), with the charging case providing 24 hours. Durability has increased from IP54 to IP57 – the headphones won’t be damaged by sweat in the gym or rain on the way home from work. The case supports both MagSafe and Qi wireless charging and has a new hidden LED that only lights up when opened. Bonus features include health functions – a hearing test and hearing protection, which suppresses loud ambient sounds.

Beware of counterfeits

AirPods are among the most counterfeited headphones in the world – on Chinese marketplaces, high-quality copies go for a fraction of the price, and sometimes they are visually indistinguishable. If you purchase headphones through an official retailer like Mall.cz, you have a guarantee that you won’t receive a clone. This might be just as valuable with this discount as the 1 500 Kč saving itself.

What to criticize: Apple has also removed the USB-C cable from the packaging. You only get the headphones, the case, and five sizes of ear tips. While Qi wireless charging works and you likely have a phone cable at home, still – for headphones costing five thousand, it’s stingy.
