A universal power bank doesn’t exist. One that fits in your pocket usually won’t charge a laptop, and a model that can handle it is usually recognizable by its weight. During the currently ongoing Alza Days, dozens of models have been discounted, and when putting together the selection of the most interesting ones, I focused mainly on making the list diverse and appealing to users with different needs. Those who want to save money, as well as more demanding individuals who aren’t satisfied with just basic performance and want something more, will find their favorite here.

Quick selection:
✅ If you just need a basic power bank to charge your phone – Vention 10,000 mAh for 279 CZK, which is very popular on Alza (over 10,000 units sold)
✅ Don’t want to carry cables – Vention 10,000 mAh Mini for 558 CZK has two built-in
✅ Have a Samsung with 45W charging – Ugreen 67W for 747 CZK will charge it at full speed according to the manufacturer
✅ Most energy for the least money – ChoeTech B730 with 30,000 mAh for 467 CZK
✅ Charging a laptop – AlzaPower Vision 100W for 779 CZK is affordable and not too heavy, Anker 25K for 1,752 CZK we tested ourselves and features a retractable cable
⚠️ Power banks up to 100 Wh can pass through airport security without further approval. Between 100 and 160 Wh, you need airline approval; larger ones are not allowed on board at all.

Small power banks you can carry all day long

Vention 10,000 mAh 22.5W – 279 CZK

Sale price: 279 CZK with code ALZADNY30 (before sale 399 CZK, you save 120 CZK)

The cheapest power bank in the selection is also the most proven. Over 10,000 units have been sold, it has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 271 reviews, and its return rate of 0.67% is among the lowest in the overview. The 10,000 mAh capacity is enough for roughly one full phone charge with some reserve, depending on your specific mobile phone. It has two USB-A ports with up to 22.5 W output, one USB-C with 20 W, and a battery status display. A short USB-C cable is included in the package, and with 37 Wh, it can be taken on a plane without issues.

For whom: Anyone who wants a simple and reliable phone backup for their backpack or car and doesn’t want to spend more than a few hundred. It also makes a great gift that’s hard to go wrong with.

Beware of: The manufacturer does not state PPS support, so newer Samsung phones will charge slower than they are capable of. And it charges itself at 18 W, taking about three hours for a full charge according to the manufacturer.

Vention 10,000 mAh Mini – 558 CZK

Sale price: 558 CZK with code ALZADNY35 (before sale 859 CZK, you save 301 CZK)

A cable is the thing you forget most often with a power bank. Vention solves this by having two cables built right into its body: one with USB-C, the other with Lightning for older iPhones. Besides these, there’s also a classic USB-C port. Compared to the ordinary Vention power bank for 279 CZK, this one costs exactly twice as much, but in addition to the cables, it also offers higher output: up to 35 W via USB-C, so it charges most phones quickly, and with a 10,000 mAh capacity, it’s enough for roughly one full phone charge with a small reserve. According to Alza, it meets the conditions for air travel.

ChoeTech MagLeap 5,000 mAh – 489 CZK

Sale price: 489 CZK with code ALZADNY30 (before sale 699 CZK, you save 210 CZK)

With a thickness of 8.9 mm, it’s the thinnest power bank in the overview. It attaches magnetically to the back of your phone and charges wirelessly with up to 15 W, or via cable through USB-C with up to 20 W. However, with 5,000 mAh, don’t expect a full phone charge; consider it more as a top-up for the afternoon or your commute home.

For whom: Owners of iPhones with MagSafe or newer Android phones with Qi2 magnets who want to carry a power bank attached to their phone. Others will need a magnetic ring or case.

Beware of: It has the lowest rating in the entire selection, 3.9 out of 5 from 61 customers, and only 64% of them recommend it. The return rate of 2.55% is among the higher ones in the overview. Furthermore, wireless charging is always less efficient than cable charging, so less energy reaches the phone.

For the cottage, festival, or tent: both under a thousand

ChoeTech B730 30,000 mAh – 467 CZK

Sale price: 467 CZK with code ALZADNY40 (before sale 779 CZK, you save 312 CZK)

The second cheapest power bank in the overview also has one of the largest capacities. No other power bank in the overview gives you as much energy per crown; you can charge a phone with a 5,000 mAh battery about four times from it. It has two USB-A ports with up to 22.5 W output, one USB-C with 20 W, a display showing the percentage status, and according to Alza, a carrying handle. Over 2,000 units have been sold, and the return rate is 1.8%. The rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 405 reviews is shared by Alza with the smaller B729 variant, so it’s not just about this model.

For whom: Festivals, camping, a cottage without electricity, or a backup in a drawer in case of a power outage. Anyone who needs a lot of energy and doesn’t care about speed.

Beware of: It weighs 607 g, so you can’t put it in your pocket. If you connect all three ports, the total output drops to 15 W according to the manufacturer. With 111 Wh, it also exceeds the 100 Wh limit, so it can only be taken on a plane with airline approval.

ChoeTech PD65W 50,000 mAh – 979 CZK

Sale price: 979 CZK with code ALZADNY30 (before sale 1,399 CZK, you save 420 CZK)

Alza has been selling it since June, and we wrote about it as a new product for 1,399 CZK. Now it’s on sale for the first time. The 50,000 mAh capacity corresponds to approximately 185 Wh, so you can charge a phone about six times from it. Unlike cheaper giants, it has a USB-C with 65 W output, which can power even a regular laptop. Next to it are two USB-A ports, and a display shows the remaining energy in percentages.

Power banks that can power a laptop too

Ugreen 67W 20,000 mAh – 747 CZK

Sale price: 747 CZK with code ALZADNY35 (before sale 1,149 CZK, you save 402 CZK)

For Samsung owners, this is the most interesting item in the overview. According to the manufacturer, Ugreen supports 45W fast charging via PPS, which more expensive Galaxy models utilize; the manufacturer mentions the S24 series, for example. This is not a given for power banks; even the more than twice as expensive Anker from this selection doesn’t have it. Via USB-C, it delivers up to 67 W, which is enough even for a smaller laptop, and according to the manufacturer, 20,000 mAh will charge a Galaxy S24 Ultra about three times. One USB-C cable is built-in and also serves as a loop; next to it, it offers another USB-C and a USB-A port. It charges itself at up to 65 W, reaching full capacity in approximately 2.4 hours.

Pro koho: Majitelé Samsungů se 45W nabíjením a všichni, kdo chtějí jednu powerbanku na telefon i občasné dobití notebooku. Váží 393 g a do letadla smí.

Pozor na: Na Alze má zatím devět hodnocení a žádnou psanou recenzi, zkušenosti majitelů tedy chybí. Na výkonný notebook 67 W stačit nemusí.

AlzaPower Vision 10,000 mAh 100W – 779 CZK

Sale price: 779 CZK with code ALZADNY40 (before sale 1,299 CZK, you save 520 CZK)

A small power bank that can also charge a laptop. Two USB-C ports deliver up to 100 W, the aluminum body measures 141 × 45 × 35 mm, and a color display shows the output on each port, battery temperature, and number of charging cycles. According to the manufacturer, it charges itself in about an hour, but only with a 100W charger, which is not included in the package. Alza has never sold it this cheaply before. It has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 111 reviews, over 1,000 units have been sold, and the return rate is 1.7%.

For whom: Anyone who carries a laptop or tablet with USB-C and wants a small backup for their backpack that, with 36 Wh, is also allowed on a plane.

Beware of: 10,000 mAh won’t charge a laptop from zero; it will rather pull it out of the red. At 340 g, it’s heavy for its capacity. According to owners, it doesn’t support Xiaomi fast charging, and for some, it stops powering via USB-C as soon as it’s connected to a charger.

Anker 25K 165W – 1,752 CZK

Sale price: 1,752 CZK with code ALZADNY20 (before sale 2,190 CZK, you save 438 CZK)

I tested this power bank in September and recommended it to anyone who travels with a laptop. It has two built-in USB-C cables, one of which is 69 cm long and retractable, plus an additional USB-C and USB-A port. One USB-C delivers 100 W, and together they provide up to 165 W. In the test, it charged my Huawei MateBook X Pro with a 60Wh battery from zero to full, with 27% remaining. From that, I then charged a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 folding phone from 10% to 93%. On Alza, it has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 25 customers, over 2,000 units have been sold, and the return rate is only 0.52%.

For whom: Anyone who travels with a laptop and doesn’t want to worry about cables. The manufacturer states 90 Wh, so it’s allowed on planes.

Beware of: It weighs 595 g, and the plastic body doesn’t feel very durable. The cable protruding from the side can be inconvenient. And it lacks 45W PPS, so more expensive Samsung phones won’t charge at full speed from it.

Vention 27,000 mAh 200W – 1,889 CZK

Sale price: 1,889 CZK with code ALZADNY30 (before sale 2,699 CZK, you save 810 CZK)

The most capacity you can take on a plane without asking in this overview: 99.9 Wh, just under the 100 Wh limit. The main USB-C supports PD 3.1, and according to its name, the power bank can deliver up to 200 W in total. Both USB-C ports can handle 100 W, so you can power two laptops simultaneously from it. It has a built-in 50cm cable with textile braiding, a TFT display, and according to the manufacturer, it charges itself in about 2 hours. It is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 12 customers.

For whom: Anyone who needs to charge two laptops at once or wants the maximum capacity that can still pass airport security without airline approval.

Beware of: The return rate of 3.06% is the highest among laptop power banks, but it’s currently based on a smaller number of units sold. Compared to Anker, it costs 137 CZK more and only has one built-in cable.

Four things worth considering

  • Roughly two-thirds of the capacity reaches the phone. The rest is lost during voltage conversion. A 10,000 mAh power bank will thus charge a phone with a 5,000 mAh battery once and a bit, and a 30,000 mAh one about four times.
  • Airlines monitor watt-hours. Up to 100 Wh without problems, between 100 and 160 Wh with airline approval, above 160 Wh not at all. For most power banks, the conversion is simple: mAh × 3.7 divided by a thousand.
  • Samsung phones need PPS. Fast charging at 25 W and 45 W for Galaxy phones runs via the PPS standard. The manufacturer explicitly promises full 45 W only for the Ugreen 67W in this selection.
  • For a laptop, look for USB-C with Power Delivery. A typical ultrabook needs 65 W; more powerful machines require 100 W or more. You cannot charge a laptop with a round power connector via USB-C.
