Alza discounted this year's 65-inch LG OLED by almost 22 thousand. It supports 165 Hz and has four HDMI 2.1 ports

The LG OLED65G64LW now costs 50,992 CZK with code 2026ALZAEXTRA30, which is 21,853 CZK less than the regular price of 72,845 CZK. You get a 4K panel that can handle up to 165 Hz in gaming mode, supports Dolby Vision, and has an anti-reflective surface.

30% cheaper and below Alza Days price

Compared to the regular price, you save 21,853 CZK. For a TV costing over 70 thousand, this is a significant difference, not just a cosmetic discount of a few hundred.

A comparison with the recent Alza Days is also interesting. As recently as September 7th, the LG OLED65G64LW with the then code ALZADNY20 cost 61,990 CZK. The current offer is therefore another 10,998 CZK lower. For this year’s model, this is a price at which I wouldn’t wait for a further discount.

For console and gaming PC: four HDMI 2.1 ports and up to 165 Hz

The panel has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 and a standard refresh rate of 100/120 Hz, but in gaming mode, it climbs up to 165 Hz in 4K. It also supports VRR, Nvidia G-SYNC, and AMD FreeSync Premium. Since all four HDMI ports are version 2.1, you can have both your console and PC permanently connected without having to monitor which input belongs to what.

For movies and series, support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG, along with 10-bit color depth, is suitable. The screen has an anti-reflective surface, which I would consider a more useful feature in a living room with large windows than an extra hertz.

Sound is handled by 60 W speakers with Dolby Atmos support and sound calibration. A digital optical output is available for an external setup.

Practical aspects: wall mounting, apps, and consumption

This version is designed for wall mounting. A flat wall mount is included in the package, but not a stand. Anyone who wants to place the TV on a cabinet or dresser must purchase a stand separately. For other mounts, the VESA spacing is 300 × 300.

Without a stand, the TV is only 2.43 cm deep, with a height of 82.6 cm and a width of 144.1 cm, so it will protrude minimally from the wall. However, account for a weight of 22 kg and a box measuring 160 × 97 cm, which weighs 30.5 kg. Delivery and installation are a two-person job.

The webOS system has Czech language support and offers Czech services like Oneplay, Prima+, SledováníTV, Kuki, or Skylink Live TV, and international ones like Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, YouTube, and Xbox Game Pass. The tuner handles DVB-T2 HEVC, satellite, and cable, and a CI+ 1.4 slot is present. Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 6E or LAN, you can cast from your phone via Chromecast or AirPlay 2, and the included remote supports voice control.

Before purchasing, it’s fair to mention the consumption. In SDR, the TV has an energy class E and consumes 77 kWh per 1,000 hours, but in HDR, it’s class G and consumes 262 kWh per 1,000 hours.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 50,992 CZK, the LG OLED65G64LW makes the most sense for someone who combines Dolby Vision movies with console or PC gaming on the TV and wants to wall-mount it. The gaming features and thin wall-mount design are not just filler here, but things that such a user will truly utilize.

If you mainly watch news and regular broadcasts on the TV, you’re unnecessarily overpaying for the gaming features. And anyone who wants to place it on furniture must account for the fact that a stand is not included in the box. The main compromises are higher HDR consumption and a weight of 22 kg, not the features. However, for those who will utilize both the film and gaming aspects, they will get this year’s OLED for 21,853 CZK cheaper than the regular price.
