It features 360° rotation and many smart functions Home News TP-Link Tapo C225 is an indoor IP camera with 2K resolution, 360° rotation, and AI detection of people, pets, and sounds On Alza, it costs 1,419 CZK instead of 1,779 CZK (20% discount) It is one of the most popular smart home cameras – over 5,000 units sold and a rating of 4.7 out of 5 Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 3. 3. 2026 23:30 Advertisement Indoor security cameras with a rotating head are a staple of smart homes. The TP-Link Tapo C225 is currently available on Alza for 1,419 CZK instead of the original 1,779 CZK. However, before you click to order, it’s fair to mention that this is not the best price on the Czech market – according to Heureka, offers from other retailers start from approximately 1,000 CZK. But if purchasing from Alza suits you (delivery speed, AlzaBoxes, warranty), the 360 CZK discount is still appealing. Quick summary:✅ Makes sense if you’re looking for an indoor camera with rotation, AI detection, and Apple HomeKit support.⚠️ Consider if you want the lowest price – you can find it cheaper elsewhere.💡 For 1,419 CZK on Alza, you get a proven camera with excellent ratings and a low return rate. ZOBRAZIT CENU NA ALZE Why this camera is interesting The Tapo C225 targets people who want a complete overview of what’s happening in their apartment or house – whether for security, pet monitoring, or as a baby monitor. The camera rotates 360° horizontally and, thanks to its smart motion tracking feature, automatically follows an object at a speed of up to 120° per second. When someone walks through the room, the camera tracks them and keeps them in frame. The 2560 × 1440 px (2K/QHD) resolution provides a sufficiently sharp image for recognizing faces and details. The lens with an f/1.6 aperture lets in more light, allowing the camera to capture good images even in low-light conditions. For night vision, it has two IR illumination modes – standard 850nm and 940nm “invisible”, which doesn’t disturb a child’s or pet’s sleep. AI detection and smart notifications The camera can distinguish between people, pets, and vehicles. This means you won’t get a notification every time a curtain moves or a shadow passes – you’ll only be alerted to what truly matters to you. Additionally, it detects abnormal sounds: baby crying, dog barking, or alarms. The barking detection feature, in particular, is repeatedly praised by users in reviews – ideal for dog owners who want to know if their pet is misbehaving. In the app, you can set up activity zones (the camera monitors only a specific part of the room) or boundaries (it alerts you when someone crosses them). This is practical, for example, for monitoring the entrance to a restricted room. KOUPIT TAPO C225 NA ALZE Practical aspects: app, integration, privacy The camera is controlled via the Tapo app (Android/iOS), which has Czech localization and is, according to users, clear and responsive. The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection is stable, provided you don’t have a router with automatic band switching – in which case, the camera needs to be connected exclusively to a 2.4 GHz network. Support for Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings means you can easily integrate the camera into your existing smart home. HomeKit integration works, but users point out that you must also have the Tapo app running – otherwise, HomeKit sees the camera as offline. A significant plus is the physical privacy mode: a button on the camera (or in the app) activates the lens cover – the camera literally “hides” and stops recording. You don’t have to worry about whether someone is watching you when you’re home. Recordings are stored on a microSD card up to 512 GB or in Tapo Care cloud storage (paid). The camera also supports the ONVIF protocol, so you can connect it to NAS systems like Synology. What users say On Alza, the camera has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 (136 ratings) and 93% of customers recommend it. Over 5,000 units have been sold with a return rate of only 0.81%. Users most frequently praise the image quality (day and night), easy installation, clear app, and barking and pet detection. Several users use the camera as a baby monitor and are satisfied – they appreciate the stable connection and quiet operation. Critical voices mention occasional motor creaking during rotation, limited downward tilt (an issue when mounting on the ceiling), and the fact that the camera requires constant wired power – it is not wireless. Some users also reported connection drops, which they resolved by strictly connecting to a 2.4 GHz network. When does this camera not make sense? If you’re looking for the lowest price, Alza is not the optimal choice – you can find the Tapo C225 significantly cheaper elsewhere. Similarly, if you need an outdoor camera or a wireless battery-powered solution – the C225 is designed exclusively for indoor use and requires constant power from the mains.
