Alza is selling off a gigantic TV at an absurd price. Is it a hit or a trap?

  • 86-inch LG TV dropped from the original 39,990 CZK to 23,994 CZK with a discount code
  • It's a standard LED panel with Direct LED backlighting, not OLED or MiniLED
  • It makes sense for those looking for a giant diagonal at a reasonable price and who prefer WebOS

An interesting discount on the 86-inch LG 86UA75006 TV has appeared on Alza. With code ALZADNY40, it will cost you 23,994 CZK, which is almost 40% less than the original 39,990 CZK, for which it entered the Czech market last July. This is the largest diagonal you can get from LG in this price category – if you don’t mind that it’s neither OLED nor MiniLED.

What you get for that money

First, let’s clarify what the LG 86UA75006 is not: it’s not a top-of-the-line panel with local dimming, quantum dots, or OLED technology. It’s a classic LED TV with Direct LED backlighting, a 50/60Hz refresh rate, and 8-bit color depth. It supports HDR in HDR10 and HLG standards, which is common for this class.

What you do get, however, is a huge screen area – 218 cm diagonal – and a reasonably functional smart system. WebOS still has a very good reputation with LG: it’s clear, fast, and the manufacturer guarantees four major updates over five years. That’s decent support, which you won’t find everywhere in this price category.

Processor and AI features

The TV features the alpha 7 AI Gen8 processor, which, according to LG, optimizes both picture and sound in real-time. In practice, this means better content upscaling and automatic adjustment of settings based on the scene type. If you have a Magic Remote controller (which is not included and must be purchased separately), you can utilize more advanced AI features like voice recognition or personalized recommendations.

Among gaming features, you’ll find ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR support, which will be appreciated by console owners or PCs connected via HDMI 2.0. No, it’s not HDMI 2.1 with 120 Hz, but it’s sufficient for most console games at 60 fps.

Who it makes sense for

This TV has a clear target audience: people who want the maximum diagonal size for the least amount of money and are willing to accept compromises in panel quality. If you mainly watch daily shows, news, or sports, Direct LED backlighting won’t bother you. However, if you plan evening movie marathons with dark scenes, be prepared that blacks won’t be perfectly deep and contrast will be average.

It also makes sense for those who like the LG ecosystem and WebOS – for example, due to applications like Kuki, Prima+, or SledováníTV, which work flawlessly here. The TV also has 20W speakers with AI Sound Pro, which is sufficient for basic listening quality, but we definitely recommend a soundbar or home theater system.

Where and for how much

The LG 86UA75006 TV is currently available on Alza for 23,994 CZK with the discount code ALZADNY40. The original price was 39,990 CZK, so the discount is approximately 16 thousand CZK. If you are looking for a giant diagonal and are willing to accept compromises in display technology, it is a reasonable choice. However, if you have higher demands for picture quality, it’s better to opt for a smaller diagonal with a better panel.
