If you don’t have 10 thousand for a premium gaming chair, but your current one is already giving you back pain, here’s a reasonable compromise. The Rapture Prowler is available on Alza with AlzaPlus+ for 3,591 CZK, and for this price, you get a combination of features that is more of an exception than a rule in this category.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you need an interim computer chair and don’t have the budget for a premium one.
⚠️ Consider carefully if you sit at the computer 10+ hours a day – for such intense use, investing in a more expensive piece is justified.
💡 For 3,591 CZK, you get a synchronous mechanism, 5D armrests, and a mesh backrest – features that often start above 5 thousand with competitors.

What the Prowler offers for the money

The main strong point is the 5D armrests – you can adjust them up/down, forward/backward, sideways, and they also rotate around their axis. This is a range you won’t find on most chairs under 5 thousand (you usually only get 2D or 3D adjustment). The synchronous mechanism means that the seat and backrest tilt together in a ratio that mimics the natural movement of the spine – not just classic rocking. For long hours of sitting at the computer, this means less pressure on the lumbar region.

The mesh backrest allows air circulation, so you won’t stick your shirt to your back in the summer like with full-leather gaming chairs. The lumbar support with variable intensity and height-adjustable headrest are above standard at this price point. The seat slide of 5 cm forward or backward allows you to adjust the seat depth to your height – a crucial feature for people over 180 cm. The backrest can be locked in 4 positions within a range of 94–120°, so you can even take a short nap.

Where the sub-four-thousand price tag is evident

The main complaint from reviews: the armrests don’t hold their set position well. The 5D range is great, but only the vertical movement is locked – if you grab the armrests to move the chair while cleaning, you’ll mess up their settings and have to readjust them from scratch. Similarly, the backrest height doesn’t have an upper lock: if you lift it past the last “click,” it drops all the way down, and you have to count the teeth to get it back up. This isn’t a defect, just a characteristic of the mechanics in this price class.

Second detail: the stiffness of the rocking spring cannot be adjusted. For lighter individuals under 70 kg, the rocking might feel stiffer; for heavier individuals, it might feel softer. The headrest has a limited adjustment range – it might be too low for people over 190 cm. Recommended height is 160–190 cm and weight capacity 130 kg – if you are outside this range, look for an Anda Seat Kaiser 3 XL or a larger model.

Will you opt for a cheaper chair now, or will you splurge on a premium investment later?
