The Amazfit brand has had a busy period. Shortly after the launch of the premium outdoor watch T-Rex Ultra 2, it now introduces the Active 3 Premium model, which targets a completely different group of users. While the T-Rex Ultra 2 are designed for extreme conditions and adventurers, the Active 3 Premium focus on runners of all levels – from complete beginners to those preparing for their first marathon.

Lightweight design with a quality display

The Amazfit Active 3 Premium weighs less than 55 grams including the strap, which is less than a dozen sheets of A4 paper. The slim stainless steel bezel houses a 1.32″ AMOLED display with a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, ensuring data remains readable even in direct sunlight. Sapphire glass provides protection against scratches and impacts.

The battery should last up to 12 days on a single charge with typical use. The watch is available in three color variants: white (Aero White), silver with a black strap (Apex Silver), and silver with a blue strap (Atlas Blue).

Lactate Threshold Monitoring for More Effective Training

One of the main features of the Active 3 Premium is the ability to determine the lactate threshold and automatically estimate heart rate (LTHR) and pace (LTP) at this level. Based on this data, the watch calculates optimal training zones by intensity and provides real-time advice on when to speed up or maintain pace.

Runners can choose from several modes, including treadmill running. All modes offer dozens of training metrics, and users can customize data display – up to six metrics can be tracked simultaneously. In total, the watch supports over 170 sports modes.

AI Coach and Shoe Wear Tracking

Beginners will appreciate the Zepp Coach feature – an AI coach that creates and continuously updates a personalized training plan based on fitness level and target distance. A library of pre-prepared courses for various races, from 5 km to marathon, is also available.

An interesting feature is automatic tracking of running shoe wear. The watch measures the distance run and updates the shoe status in the Zepp app. This allows runners to monitor the condition of their shoes and replace them at the right time. Multiple pairs can be tracked simultaneously.

Offline Maps and NFC Payments

Active 3 Premium offer free offline maps with turn-by-turn navigation. They support six satellite systems for precise positioning. If a runner deviates from the planned route, the watch automatically recalculates a new path.

Health features include heart rate measurement, blood oxygen saturation, sleep analysis, and stress tracking. The watch also supports Bluetooth calls directly from the wrist and contactless payments via Zepp Pay with support for up to eight payment cards.

Price and Availability

The Amazfit Active 3 Premium are available from today on European markets for 169.90 euros, which is approximately 4,100 CZK. In Czechia, they will be available from March 5 for 4,290 CZK.

And for whom are these watches suitable? Primarily for runners who want structured training with detailed analytics but do not need the extreme durability of outdoor models. Conversely, those looking for a versatile smartwatch for everyday wear without a focus on running may opt for cheaper alternatives.
