The excellent smartwatches with sapphire glass and offline maps have just dropped below the three and a half thousand mark. You can now buy Amazfit Active 3 Premium on Heureka from 3,441 CZK, which is the lowest price since their launch (they were introduced to the market this March for 4,290 CZK). They will attract you with interesting features for runners and last up to 12 days.

Quick summary:
It makes sense if you want running watches with maps, an altimeter, and sapphire glass for significantly less than the competition.
⚠️ Consider that NFC payments in the Czech Republic only work with selected banks, and Amazfit is a newer ecosystem.
💡 From 3,441 CZK, this is the lowest price in the model’s history — its features aim higher than the price suggests.

Why these watches are interesting

The main attraction is the features, which are not commonly seen at this price point. Amazfit Active 3 Premium watches combine a bright 1.32″ AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass (which is more durable than standard Gorilla Glass), a stainless steel body, and most importantly, offline maps with navigation and a barometric altimeter. This is a combination that even some more expensive watches don’t offer — for example, more common sports models lack both an altimeter and maps.

The second reason to pay attention is the price in the context of the model’s history. The watches were only launched this March for 4,290 CZK and have now reached 3,441 CZK for the first time. If you’ve been waiting for them, this is the best time yet.

Key parameters explained simply

The display is a 1.32″ AMOLED with a resolution of 466 × 466 and a density of 353 PPI, easily readable even in direct sunlight. Position tracking is handled by GPS with support for five satellite systems, ensuring accurate route measurement, and the watches can handle offline maps and automatic route recalculation if you stray from it. Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a speaker with a microphone are also present, allowing you to make calls directly from the watch after pairing with your phone. 5 ATM water resistance means you can swim with them.

The body measures 45 × 45 × 11 mm and weighs only 38 grams without the strap, making it light on the wrist. The sensor equipment is rich: optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic and temperature sensor, and a barometric altimeter. The watches work with Android 7.0 and newer, as well as iOS 15.0 and newer via the Zepp app.

Sport, running, and recovery

Here it’s clear that the watches were designed primarily for runners. They offer over 170 sports modes, integrated training plans, and the smart coach Zepp Coach, which adapts training for 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and marathon based on your performance and recovery. Detailed running metrics such as lactate threshold, ground contact time, or posture are also available. The BioCharge function shows the body’s current energy level, and RestoreIQ monitors sleep quality and recovery through heart rate variability.

Maps, calling, and battery life

A practical trio that makes these watches versatile: offline maps with navigation instructions will guide you even without your phone, and if you stray from the route, the watches will automatically recalculate the path. Thanks to the speaker and microphone, you can make calls directly from your wrist (after pairing with your phone). The manufacturer states a battery life of up to 12 days of normal use — but expect that active GPS and a constantly on display will shorten the battery life. Charging is magnetic, and a full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

What to watch out for

The most important thing concerns NFC payments. The watches have NFC and support payments via Zepp Pay, but in the Czech Republic, it only works with Mastercard cards from mBank and Raiffeisenbank, or via the fintech Curve. If you have an account with another bank (ČSOB, KB, Air Bank, Česká spořitelna, Fio, and others), you do not have direct support yet and would have to use Curve. Verify this before purchasing if you rely on paying with your watch.

Second thing: Amazfit with the Zepp app is a capable and rapidly improving ecosystem, but it is newer and less mature than Garmin Connect — if you want maximum data history and community, it’s a difference you’ll notice. And as with all smartwatches, health measurements are indicative, not medical. A minor note at the end: the package states a magnetic charging head, but Amazfit also offers the USB cable itself as an accessory — to be safe, verify the package contents.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you primarily pay with your watch and have a bank other than mBank and Raiffeisenbank, you will encounter Zepp Pay limitations, and watches with Garmin Pay or Google Pay might serve you better. Similarly, if you want the most mature ecosystem and community, Garmin is still a step ahead. However, for runners and active people who want maps, an altimeter, calling, and sapphire glass for a reasonable price, the price from 3,441 CZK is very hard to beat.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

Amazfit Active 3 Premium are unusually well-equipped running watches for little money, which have now reached their lowest price in history — from 3,441 CZK. For sapphire glass, offline maps, a barometric altimeter, calling, and 5 ATM, it’s a great offer. The main drawback is limited bank support for NFC payments and a slightly less mature Zepp ecosystem. For those who don’t mind paying with their watch or have a suitable bank, they are getting one of the best-equipped watches in this price range.

For sports watches, is equipment for less money more important to you, or a mature brand ecosystem?
