Amazfit failed to keep new smartwatches with an excellent AMOLED display and long battery life under wraps. Here's what they'll offer Home News New Zealand retailer revealed the upcoming Amazfit Bip Max smartwatch before its official launch The new device is expected to offer a 2.07" AMOLED display with 3,000 nits brightness, 4GB storage for music and offline maps According to the leak, the price is around 3,300 CZK converted, and the 550mAh battery promises up to 20 days of battery life Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 4. 5. 2026 00:30 Advertisement Affordable smartwatches have, in recent years, moved far beyond what was until recently considered basic equipment. The pressure on price/performance ratio in the sports model segment is particularly intensified by Amazfit, which regularly stacks premium-class features into models under five thousand crowns. Now it seems they are preparing another piece for their affordable Bip series — the upcoming Amazfit Bip Max model was accidentally revealed by a New Zealand retailer, and its specifications include many parameters you wouldn’t typically expect from a model costing just over three thousand. An AMOLED display that will dazzle Offline maps, music, and standalone GPS Battery lasts almost three weeks And the price? Quite favorable Who the smartwatch will be for (and who it won't be for) An AMOLED display that will dazzle The most prominent draw of the new smartwatch should be its 2.07″ AMOLED display with a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. This value is among the highest you’ll find on smartwatches today – for comparison, Apple mentions 3,000 nits for its flagship Apple Watch Ultra 2. High brightness significantly helps when reading notifications, navigation instructions, or training data in direct sunlight, where affordable smartwatches traditionally fall short. As for the design, the overall execution resembles a city rather than an outdoor model. The square body with a crown and control buttons slightly evokes the Apple Watch, and overall, I consider it very elegant. Offline maps, music, and standalone GPS Another surprise is the 4GB internal storage, which allows the smartwatch to store music for local playback and map data for offline navigation directly on your wrist. This means you can leave your phone at home while running or cycling and still have your route and playlist at hand. Related to this is the integrated GNSS module, which enables standalone activity tracking without a paired phone. Details about supported satellite systems or potential dual-band GPS are still missing – which is a shame, as dual-band GPS is what enthusiasts would most wish for in affordable smartwatches, and Amazfit has never widely offered it in the accessible class. Without official confirmation, let’s assume a standard single-band variant for now. Battery lasts almost three weeks Inside, a 550mAh battery is expected to operate, which the manufacturer links in promotional materials to a battery life of up to 20 days in normal mode and up to 50 hours with GPS enabled. The second number is more important in practice — if confirmed, the smartwatch will easily handle weekend hikes and longer ultra-runs without needing a charge. For health monitoring, Amazfit has no more aces up its sleeve. It is expected to offer heart rate measurement, sleep analysis, and the BioCharge metric, which provides an estimate of current energy reserves for training planning. The standard features conclude with 5 ATM water resistance, so the smartwatch can withstand rain and swimming. However, we likely cannot expect fall detection or ECG, which more expensive competitors offer. And the price? Quite favorable The New Zealand retailer NCP Group, which revealed the Bip Max, listed a retail price of 268 NZD including 15% tax, which corresponds to approximately 3,300 CZK converted. The confusion surrounding the model designation is interesting. Notebookcheck noted that the retailer lists the code designation A2435 for the new product, which, however, belongs to the older Bip 6 model. The actual model number for the upcoming Bip Max is therefore most likely A2568, whose passage through the US FCC was recorded earlier. Who the smartwatch will be for (and who it won’t be for) If the leaked parameters are confirmed, the Amazfit Bip Max could become a strong choice for recreational runners, hikers, and cyclists who want GPS, maps, and music on their wrist but are unwilling to invest in Garmin or other premium smartwatches. It also looks attractive for anyone currently using an affordable smartwatch costing two thousand and wanting an upgrade with a decent display without moving into the premium class. Conversely, professional athletes, users seeking precise dual-band GPS, or anyone wanting advanced health monitoring including ECG and blood pressure, should opt for a higher-tier device.
