Having an 83-inch OLED TV at home was until recently the privilege of people willing to spend a hundred thousand crowns. Today, we are in a slightly different situation. The LG OLED83B56 is available at Alza for 44,435 CZK after applying the code ALZADNY20. Compared to the launch price of 112,490 CZK, this is a saving of over 68 thousand, and for a 210 cm large OLED, it is by far the most attractive offer I have seen this year. Reviews speak for themselves — 23 ratings, all five-star.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a large OLED for your living room and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a flagship model. For gamers with a PlayStation 5 or a gaming PC, it’s an ideal combination thanks to 4× HDMI 2.1 with VRR and NVIDIA G-SYNC.
⚠️ Consider that this is not the flagship C series — it lacks the Micro Lens Array layer, which increases brightness in C models. You won’t notice it in a darkened room, but in a brightly lit room, the picture will be slightly less luminous.
💡 For 44,435 CZK, you get an 83″ 4K OLED panel with 120 Hz, an alpha 8 AI Gen2 processor, 4× HDMI 2.1, WebOS with a guarantee of 4 updates, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, NVIDIA G-SYNC, FreeSync Premium, AI Magic Remote, and compatibility with Apple AirPlay 2, HomeKit, and Matter.

Why this offer makes sense

LG has long been the leader in the OLED segment — it even supplies panels to competitors. The B series is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the C series, but technologically it shares much of what is essential: the alpha 8 AI Gen2 processor for image processing, a full suite of HDR formats (Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HLG), and gaming features in the form of 4× HDMI 2.1 with 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM, and NVIDIA G-SYNC.

Furthermore, three things are repeatedly mentioned in reviews — low weight for an 83″ TV (27.7 kg), a thin profile, and the Magic Remote, which functions as an air mouse with voice control. Users also praise the speed of WebOS and its integration with Apple HomeKit and Matter.

What to consider

The B series does not have the so-called MLA (Micro Lens Array), which higher-end C and G series models receive. In practice, this means slightly lower peak brightness, which will be most noticeable primarily in sun-drenched rooms. One reviewer writes that in a normally lit room, the brightness is sufficient for them, but if you have a living room with large south-facing windows without the possibility of shading, Mini LED competitors will be brighter in direct sunlight. In a darkened room or in the evening, however, OLED will decisively outperform its competitors.

The second criticism that systematically recurs in reviews — the 20W speakers are a weaker point; for such a large TV, consider a soundbar. And then a minor detail for someone who will be mounting the TV on the wall — the 400×400 VESA mount is located in the lower half of the back, so if you are replacing an older TV with a central mount, expect to adjust the bracket.

And one last thing — don’t forget to check if the TV will fit through doors and elevators. One user literally writes in a review: “it almost didn’t fit in our elevator”. The dimensions of the packaged box are considerable.

Is the maximum diagonal size more important to you in a TV, or the most technologically advanced panel?
