An offer you can't refuse. Students in the Czech Republic get advanced Google AI and 2 TB of space for free for a year

After launching in several foreign countries, Google is bringing an exceptionally attractive offer for students to our region as well. The Google AI Pro plan, which includes extended access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro artificial intelligence, 2TB of storage in Google One, and a host of other benefits, can be obtained by university students (and others) completely free for a year.

Activation can be done in a minute

Students can activate the Google AI Pro plan for 12 months for free via this link; they have until December 9, 2025, to do so. The conditions are relatively few –⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠ you just need to be a resident of the Czech Republic or another country included in the program, be over 18 years old, and have a personal Google account.

Student status is verified by the SheerID service, which is used by Spotify, among others, in addition to Google. Although the offer is primarily aimed at university students, SheerID also offers high schools (gymnasiums) in its list of schools, so I didn’t hesitate and took advantage of the offer as well. I managed to go through the entire process in under a minute. Those who already have experience with status verification, for example, through activating a YouTube Music student subscription, have an advantage.

Top-tier AI, 2 TB of space, and other benefits for free

From my perspective, the offer of a one-year Google AI Pro subscription is irresistible. The plan is particularly appealing due to extended access to Gemini artificial intelligence –⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠ by subscribing, you specifically get higher limits for the advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model (and you’ll also be able to use it within the Deep Research tool) or 5x more audio overviews in the NotebookLM service, which perfectly serves as an assistant for preparing for an upcoming test or exam.

But there are even more benefits. Also worth mentioning is the 2TB file storage in Google One (so I won’t have to deal with my overflowing 200GB storage for a while) or the integration of Gemini into Gmail, Docs, and other applications. Connoisseurs will also appreciate access to the Veo 3 Fast model within Gemini or 1,000 AI credits per month for content generation in Flow and Whisk services.

In a blog post, Google also highlights the recently introduced Guided Learning, which functions as a special mode within the Gemini service. Instead of blindly presenting you with answers to questions, the artificial intelligence tries to guide you to the correct solution and explain the material so that you are able to apply it yourself. This helps develop critical thinking.

Those who don’t take advantage of the offer will lose out

From a student’s perspective, the current Google AI Pro plan promotion is an offer you can’t refuse. I work with artificial intelligence daily and actively use it for studying, where it helps me, for example, with preparing questions for exams or supplementing my own notes with additional facts and context. The package also includes expanded storage and provides access to other practical features.
