An unannounced bomb from Xiaomi has arrived in the Czech Republic. The new second-generation TV Stick 4K will be available for a steal

Xiaomi continues to expand its portfolio of smart home entertainment devices. Following the recent official arrival of the Xiaomi TV Box S 3. generace in the Czech Republic, its smaller sibling – the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K druhé generace – has now quietly entered the European market. Although the manufacturer has not yet announced an official global launch, the device has already appeared in the offerings of several European and Czech retailers.

Shares hardware with its more powerful sibling

According to available information, the new device offers similar hardware to the recently introduced TV Box S 3. generace. Inside the device, you will find a 6nm quad-core processor, which most likely corresponds to the Amlogic S905X5M chipset. This chipset has already proven itself not only in the Xiaomi box but also, for example, in the Onn 4K Plus box.

The TV Stick 4K druhé generace features 2 GB of RAM, which also matches the larger model. However, a significant difference lies in the storage space – while the Box S offers a generous 32 GB, the smaller Stick has to make do with only 8 GB. This can be a potential obstacle for more demanding users, especially when installing multiple applications and games.

Modern connectivity and multimedia support

In terms of connectivity, the new device is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, which is standard today. For lovers of quality picture and sound, support for technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and DTS-X is a welcome addition. The device should thus offer an excellent audiovisual experience when watching compatible content, but keep in mind that these formats must also be supported by the display device, i.e., a monitor or television.

The only minor disappointment for some might be the absence of a USB-C connector – the manufacturer continues to use the older microUSB port for power.

Availability and price in the Czech Republic

The good news for Czech interested parties is that the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K druhé generace is already available on our market. At the time of writing, the XM.cz e-shop offers it in stock for 1 449 Kč. Alternatively, you can already order it from Aliexpress for approximately 1 100 Kč. Compared to the recently launched TV Box S 3. generace, which costs 1 699 Kč, this is a slightly more affordable alternative.

However, it should be emphasized that this is not yet official distribution. Xiaomi has not yet listed this product on its official website, nor has there been a formal announcement for the global market. For those interested who prefer official distribution channels, it may therefore be more suitable to wait for the official launch or opt for the already available third-generation TV Box.

Comparison with Xiaomi TV Box S 3. generace

For completeness, let’s recall that the recently introduced Xiaomi TV Box S třetí generace offers a similar foundation to the new TV Stick. Its main advantages are significantly larger 32GB storage, better connectivity, and official distribution in the Czech Republic. The Box S uses the same powerful 6nm quad-core chipset, which provides 25 % higher CPU performance and even 130 % higher GPU performance compared to the previous generation.

The device runs on Google TV and the package includes a Bluetooth remote control with voice assistant support. It is therefore up to each user whether they prefer the more compact design and lower price of the new TV Stick, or opt for the larger storage capacity and the certainty of official distribution in the case of the TV Box S. Both devices, in any case, represent an interesting solution for transforming a regular television into a smart multimedia center.
