Last year, we wrote about the Garmin Fenix E at a price of 14,100 CZK and considered it a great offer. Now it’s even better — the Stainless Steel edition is selling on Heureka from 10,990 CZK. From the original 19,990 CZK, this is a drop of almost half. For eleven thousand, you get a Garmin with an AMOLED display, sixteen-day battery life, and complete outdoor equipment.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a premium Garmin sports watch with an AMOLED display, GPS, maps, and Garmin Pay.
⚠️ Consider that the 47mm case is larger and heavier, the app ecosystem is not as rich as with Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch.
💡 For 10,990 CZK, you get a watch that surpasses most competitors at twice the price in terms of battery life, features, and build quality.

Why Fenix E and not a cheaper Garmin

Fenix E is a stripped-down Fenix 8 — but smartly stripped down. The 1.3″ AMOLED display (416 × 416 px) under Gorilla Glass looks excellent. Battery life of up to 16 days in smartwatch mode is exceptional for an AMOLED model. Control combines touch and five physical buttons — indispensable for sports. Water resistance of 10 ATM covers swimming and diving.

It features over 30 sports profiles, multi-GNSS navigation including Galileo, a barometer, altimeter, compass, pre-installed TopoActive maps with contour lines, and ski resort maps. Compatibility with Mapy.cz for route planning is also a plus. Health monitoring includes heart rate, SpO2, sleep, stress, and Body Battery. Garmin Pay for contactless payments and 16GB memory for offline music from Spotify or Deezer.

What to expect

The 47mm stainless steel case fits better on a larger wrist. Compared to Fenix 8, it lacks diving features and some more advanced metrics. The app ecosystem is limited compared to Apple Watch or Samsung — you won’t find WhatsApp or Google Maps here. But if you primarily want sports, outdoor activities, and reliability from a watch, the Fenix E handles all of this better than smartwatches at a similar price.

What smartwatches do you wear — Garmin, Apple Watch, Samsung, or something else?
