The Redmi Note series has long been one of the best-selling phones in the Czech Republic — and when you add a significant discount, it’s a done deal. Last year’s Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is already selling on Heureka from 4,740 CZK for the 8/256 GB variant. A year ago, it started at 8,999 CZK. That’s a discount of almost 50%, and for the resulting price, it’s hard to find a better-equipped phone today.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for a reliable phone with a good camera, large battery, and IP68 resistance — and don’t want to spend more than five thousand.
⚠️ Consider whether you mind pre-installed bloatware (it can be removed) or a curved display
💡 For 4,740 CZK you get features that cost almost nine thousand a year ago

What you get for under five thousand

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is a phone where it’s hard to find weaknesses corresponding to its price. The main camera has a resolution of 200 Mpx with a large 1/1.4″ sensor — and the results reflect that. In daylight, it produces detailed images with natural colors, and at night, it performs better than most competitors in this category. Digital zoom at 2× and 3× is usable; beyond that, quality decreases, but that’s normal for a phone without a telephoto lens.

The display is one of the best you can get in the under five thousand price category: a 6.67″ OLED with a resolution of 2712 × 1220 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 3,000 nits. It supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, so Netflix movies look excellent on this display. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset — nothing that would break benchmark records, but it’s more than sufficient for everyday use, social media, and less demanding games. Plus 8 GB RAM, 256GB storage, and 5G support. The 5,110 mAh battery practically lasts a day and a half to two days of normal use.

And then there’s IP68 — meaning full resistance to dust and water immersion. A year ago, this certification on a nine-thousand-crown phone was a nice bonus. For under five thousand, it’s almost unbelievable.

What you should know beforehand

No phone for five thousand is without compromises. The body is all-plastic — you don’t get an aluminum frame or glass back like with more expensive models. It looks decent, but it simply doesn’t feel premium in hand. The 3.5mm jack is missing, which was still present in the previous Note 13 Pro generation. Charging is 45W — decent, but its predecessor managed 67W, and the more expensive Note 14 Pro+ charges at 120W. Don’t look for a charger in the box.

Software-wise, the phone runs on HyperOS with Android 15 — Xiaomi promises three major system updates, one of which has already occurred. There are traditionally more pre-installed applications than desirable, and you’ll encounter ads in some system apps. Both can be resolved, but it requires patience during the initial setup.

Verdict: unbeatable at this price

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G was never a bad phone — at its launch price of 8,999 CZK, it offered a solid price/performance ratio. But at 4,740 CZK, it becomes one of the best buys on the Czech market. 200Mpx camera, IP68, 120 Hz OLED, two-day battery life, and 5G.

The phone is available on Heureka in three colors — Midnight Black, Coral Green, and Lavender Purple. The lowest prices are currently around 4,740 CZK, but it depends on the seller and availability. If you’re considering a phone under five thousand, you can hardly go wrong.
