A lock that airports are allowed to open – and you know where

TSA certification means that airport security has a universal key and can open the lock during a random check, instead of cutting it off. This is the main reason why TSA locks pay off for travelers – otherwise, your suitcase often arrives without a lock and damaged.

The second half of the product is a locator. Thanks to MFi certification and Apple Find My support, the lock behaves like a full-fledged AirTag: you see the suitcase’s location on the map, you get out-of-range notifications, you can turn on lost mode, or make the lock beep when you’re looking for it in a room. If your suitcase ends up on a different flight, you’ll see it before the airline does. Technically, it’s Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of 50 meters, the battery lasts up to three months and charges via USB-C.

Two things you need to know beforehand

First and foremost: the lock works only with iOS. Android owners will find no use for it, as Find My is a closed Apple service – here, only a classic TSA lock plus a separate locator from Google would help. Secondly, the USB-C cable is not included, so use the one from your phone for charging.

And a practical note: although the rating is a perfect 5 out of 5, it’s only from seven customers so far, so long-term experiences are yet to accumulate. For an Apple user who flies at least a few times a year, however, at 160 CZK, it’s one of the smartest investments for peaceful sleep at the airport.
