Cheapest laptop with RTX 5070 Ti! This ASUS has a 165Hz display, 16-core Ryzen, and a great look

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 with RTX 5070 Ti graphics entered the Czech market in April for 60,990 CZK, but now, with a code, it has dropped to 44,180 CZK. It is currently the cheapest laptop with this graphics card on the Czech market, and it’s not a lower-tier laptop like TUF GAMING, but a ROG STRIX.

From 61 thousand to 44 thousand

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614PR-RV034 model started selling in April 2025 for 60,990 CZK. It was one of the first laptops with the new RTX 5070 Ti graphics on the Czech market. But now, with the discount code ALZADNY25, the price dropped to 44,180 CZK, which is a discount of almost 28%.

What the RTX 5070 Ti brings

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card is based on the GB205 chip with Blackwell architecture. It offers 5,888 CUDA cores, 12 GB of GDDR7 memory with a 192-bit bus, and a maximum TDP of 140 W. In this laptop, it also works with a MUX Switch, meaning the GPU can communicate directly with the display without integrated graphics – resulting in higher performance.

The main new feature is support for DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation (MFG). While DLSS 3 could generate one intermediate frame, DLSS 4 can create up to three at once. The result is extremely high frame rates – for example, in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing, you can achieve over 200 FPS at high details.

Further improvements are brought by NVIDIA Reflex 2, which reduces input latency. You’ll especially appreciate this in games like CS2, Valorant, or League of Legends. And then there’s full ray tracing, which renders realistic reflections, shadows, and lighting in real-time.

Performance on par with desktop cards

According to benchmarks, the RTX 5070 Ti in a laptop is 23% faster than the standard RTX 5070. In gaming performance, the difference is smaller – about 15%, which is still a solid increase. The desktop RTX 5070 Ti is then another 34% faster, but there we’re talking about a desktop GPU with higher power consumption and proper cooling.

In practice, this means that AAA games in Full HD at high details will run smoothly at over 100 FPS. In 2K (2560×1440), you’ll be around 60–80 FPS, which is still playable. And if you enable DLSS 4, you’ll multiply the frame rate.

The graphics card is complemented by the AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor – a 16-core chip with 32 threads and a maximum clock speed of 5.3 GHz. It’s a refresh of the Zen 4 architecture, which added an extra 100 MHz compared to its predecessor. In Cinebench R23, it achieves almost the same values as the Intel Core i9-13980HX, so the CPU performance is top-notch.

Cooling with three fans

ASUS installed three fans in the ROG Strix G16 instead of the usual two. The cooling system consists of seven heatpipes and uses Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU. This ensures better heat dissipation than traditional thermal paste.

Under full load, the fans spin at higher RPMs, but the noise is not unpleasant. If you play with a headset, you won’t notice the difference. And if the noise bothers you, you can switch to silent mode in Armoury Crate – performance will drop, but the laptop will remain quieter.

16:10 Display with 165 Hz

The display has a diagonal of 16 inches with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels (16:10 format). This means 10% more vertical space compared to classic 16:9. It’s useful not only for gaming but also for work – you have more space for the timeline in video editing or for code in an IDE. Personally, I would have welcomed a higher resolution at this price, but for gaming on a 16-inch display, Full HD is still sufficient. Of course, you can also connect the laptop to an external monitor and turn it into a full-fledged gaming PC.

A refresh rate of 165 Hz ensures smooth motion, and a response time of 3 ms minimizes blurring. The panel covers 100% sRGB, so colors are accurate. G-Sync support then eliminates screen tearing during fluctuating frame rates.

A brightness of 300 nits is standard for laptops. You won’t play much outdoors in the sun, but indoors it’s perfectly sufficient. And the matte surface reduces reflections, so you won’t have a mirror on the screen.

Who this discount is for

Primarily for AAA game players who want maximum details and ray tracing. If you play Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, Black Myth: Wukong, or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the RTX 5070 Ti will give you the option to turn on all effects and still get over 60 FPS.

It’s also suitable for streamers and video editors. NVIDIA Encoder (NVENC) can record high-quality video without CPU load. And if you edit in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro, you’ll appreciate GPU acceleration.

Game developers and 3D artists will use VRAM for rendering scenes or training AI models. And thanks to NVIDIA Studio, you have access to optimizations for creative applications.

Where are the compromises

The first compromise is 16GB RAM. Yes, it’s DDR5-5200, so it’s fast, but for more demanding workloads or multitasking, you’d welcome 32 GB. Fortunately, the laptop has two slots, so an upgrade is possible.

The second compromise is the absence of an operating system. The laptop is sold without Windows, so you have to buy a license or install Linux.

The third compromise is its weight of 2.5 kg. It’s not an ultrabook, so it’s not suitable for everyday travel in a backpack. But for a gaming laptop, it’s an average weight.
