Do you want a small mechanical keyboard that won’t take up half your desk? Rapture SIERRA now costs 1,079 CZK with code ALZADNY40 instead of 1,799 CZK. According to owners, it offers more than one would expect for the price.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a compact wireless mechanical keyboard with pleasant switches, backlit keycaps, and flexible connectivity.
⚠️ Consider that RGB at full brightness quickly drains the battery, and the sound of the keys might not suit everyone.
💡 For 1,079 CZK with code ALZADNY40, you get a keyboard that owners compare to more expensive competitor models.

Compact format and pleasant switches

The 65% format (68 keys) is small but retains arrow keys. The low-profile linear Kailh White Rain LP switches are pre-lubricated, and owners praise their smooth, pleasantly “round” sound – one user who tried multiple Rapture models rated the Sierra’s sound as the nicest among them. The RGB backlighting shining directly through the keycaps is also nice, readable even during the day. You can connect it via a 2.4GHz adapter (1000 Hz, great for gaming), Bluetooth to up to three devices, or a USB-C cable. Waking from sleep mode is instant and registers even the first press.

What to watch out for

The most common complaint concerns the battery with RGB enabled: at full brightness, the backlighting drains quickly. The good news is that at the lowest brightness (still visible during the day) and with automatic sleep, it can last several days according to an owner, and charging is fast. One reviewer mentioned stiffer keys, especially backspace, which caused finger pain – but he admits it might have been a faulty unit, as others don’t complain about stiffness. And the sound of the keys is subjective – it might suit some, but not others. There are only a few reviews so far, and the return rate is slightly higher, so take this as a general guide.

For a compact wireless mechanical keyboard at a reasonable price, this is a successful choice, especially if you don’t need a numpad and appreciate backlit keycaps. Just keep the RGB at a lower brightness, and you won’t have to worry about battery life.

Are you drawn to the compact 65% format, or can you not do without a numpad?
