After weeks of speculation and leaks, official confirmation has arrived. Xiaomi has announced the launch date for the anticipated POCO X8 Pro series, which aims to shake up the upper mid-range segment. The online presentation will take place on March 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM Central European Time. Additionally, interested parties can pre-order the phones and receive attractive bonuses.

POCO X8 Pro Max: Flagship performance in a more affordable package

The main star of the presentation will be the POCO X8 Pro Max with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. This is a slightly cut-down version of the full Dimensity 9500 – the main Cortex-X925 core runs at 3.73 GHz instead of 4.21 GHz, and the performance trio of Cortex-X4 cores operates at 3.30 GHz. In the Geekbench 6 benchmark, the phone achieved 2,673 points in the single-core and 8,471 points in the multi-core test.

The display has a diagonal of 6.83 inches with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 2,000 nits. Photography will be handled by a 50Mpx Light Hunter 600 main sensor with optical stabilization, accompanied by an 8Mpx wide-angle lens. The selfie camera will offer a resolution of 32 Mpx.

However, the biggest draw is the battery. According to previous leaks, its capacity should reach 8,550 mAh with support for 100W wired charging. The phone also features 12 GB RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, IP68/IP69K certification, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 7, and an infrared port. The system will be Android 16 with HyperOS 3 overlay.

POCO X8 Pro: A more compact alternative

Alongside the top-tier Max model, the standard POCO X8 Pro will also arrive. It will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset and a smaller 6.59″ display. The battery will offer a capacity of around 6,500 mAh, which is still an above-average value. Both devices are essentially global versions of the Chinese models Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max with their own POCO brand software modifications.

Pre-orders with bonuses: Free Spotify and YouTube Premium

Xiaomi has launched a pre-order system, which will run from March 9th at 10:00 AM to March 17th at 1:00 PM. Those who pre-order the phone will receive 300 Mi Points and the opportunity to enter a draw for a Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro for a symbolic 1 CZK.

In addition, the manufacturer has added further incentives in the form of 2 months of YouTube Premium for free and 3 months of Spotify Premium for free. These bonuses should apply to all buyers, not just those who pre-order the phone.

Price: How much will the new devices cost?

Xiaomi has not yet revealed the official Czech prices, but we can refer to earlier leaks. The POCO X8 Pro Max is expected to start at €529 for the 256 GB variant on the global market (approximately 13,000 CZK), while the 512 GB version will cost around €579 (about 14,300 CZK). Final Czech prices may vary slightly.
