Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors are slowly making their way into laptops as an alternative to Intel and AMD. They promise significantly longer battery life, quiet operation, and better AI task processing. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 with a Snapdragon X Plus processor is now available for 16,989 CZK with a code, making it one of the cheapest Copilot+ PC laptops with an OLED display on the Czech market.

From 20 thousand to 17 thousand with extra bonuses

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 14Q8X9 model had an original price of 19,989 CZK. With the discount code ALZADNY10, it dropped to 16,989 CZK, which is a 3,000 CZK discount. In addition, you get a free Lenovo Digital Pen 2 active stylus and two gifts: one year of Zoner Photo Studio X (value 1,370 CZK) and an extended 3-year warranty after registration (value 1,499 CZK).

What is Snapdragon X Plus

Snapdragon X Plus is a processor with ARM architecture, just like chips in phones or Apple M-series. It has 8 cores with a clock speed of up to 3.4 GHz and an integrated NPU unit with 45 TOPS performance, which is sufficient for Copilot+ PC certification. This means the laptop can run Windows 11 AI features locally – without cloud processing.

The most common question is: Are ARM laptops compatible with common applications? The answer is more complex. Applications written for ARM (like Microsoft Office, Chrome, Edge, Spotify) run natively, and performance is excellent. But if you use an old application or game designed for x86 architecture, the laptop must emulate it – and performance drops there.

According to tests, Snapdragon X Plus is relatively slow in emulation. If you run demanding applications like Adobe Premiere Pro, AutoCAD, or games, you will be disappointed. But for basic work in Office, browser, Spotify, or Canva, it is perfectly sufficient.

OLED display with 100% DCI-P3

The display has a diagonal of 14 inches with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels (16:10 format). It is an OLED panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, which means vibrant colors and perfect blacks. Contrast is theoretically infinite because each pixel lights up independently.

Unfortunately, HDR certification and a high refresh rate are missing – the display has a standard 60 Hz. For most users, this is not a problem, but if you need HDR for video editing or a higher refresh rate for games, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

The touchscreen allows you to control the laptop with your fingers or the Lenovo Digital Pen 2 active stylus, which is included in the package. It’s suitable for taking notes, sketching, or photo editing. And thanks to the 360° hinge, you can transform the laptop into a tablet – just flip the display backward.

Battery life up to 21.5 hours

The biggest advantage of Snapdragon processors is their efficiency. Lenovo states a battery life of up to 21.5 hours, which is double that of classic Intel or AMD laptops. Real-world usage will, of course, differ, with tests showing 10-15 hours, but even so, you’ll last all day without charging.

The battery has a capacity of 57 Wh and supports fast charging. After 15 minutes of charging, you get enough power for another 2 hours of operation. Charging works via USB-C, so you can also use a universal adapter or a power bank with sufficient output.

If ever, now is the time

The price of 16,989 CZK for a convertible laptop with an OLED display, Snapdragon X Plus, and an active stylus included in the package is a solid offer. You get long battery life, quiet operation, and a top-notch display – all in a lightweight body under 1.5 kg.

It’s not for everyone. If you need to run demanding applications or games, opt for a classic x86 laptop. But if you’re looking for a lightweight machine for work, study, or travel, this is an interesting choice.
