Ubisoft is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its Ubisoft Connect platform and is giving away a game completely for free. Starting November 13, you can activate Immortals Fenyx Rising, an open-world RPG inspired by Zelda, on PC. It’s not just a weekend trial – once activated, the game will remain in your library forever.

How long will it be free

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has not precisely specified how long the promotion will last. They only state “for a limited time,” which for similar promotions usually means one to two weeks. If you want it, it’s best to activate the game right on November 13.

What you actually get

Immortals Fenyx Rising is an open-world action RPG set in a Greek mythical world. You play as Fenyx, a warrior who must save the gods from a dark curse. The gameplay draws inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – an open world, rock climbing, gliding, puzzles in temples, and battles with gigantic beasts.

The main difference from Zelda is the humor – the game is narrated from the perspective of Prometheus and Zeus, who comment on your actions with ironic detachment.

System requirements

One of the nice things about Immortals Fenyx Rising is that it’s not too demanding. Ubisoft set the entry bar really low – for playing at 720p at 30 fps on low details, an Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD FX-6300 processor is sufficient, which are pieces over thirteen years old. Graphics will suffice with a GeForce GTX 660 with 2 GB VRAM or an AMD R9 280X with 3 GB. You need 8 GB of RAM in dual-channel mode and 28 GB of disk space.

In practice, this means that if you have any computer from recent years, the game will run on it without problems. Even older computers that are no longer sufficient for modern AAA titles will handle it on low to medium details. And if you have an average setup like an RTX 2060 and Ryzen 5 3600, you’ll play at 1440p on high details.

How to get the game

The process is a standard Ubisoft procedure:

1. Download the Ubisoft Connect client from the official Ubisoft website
2. Install it and log in or create a Ubisoft account
3. Starting November 13, search for Immortals Fenyx Rising and click “Claim”
4. After activation, go to your library and download the game

Important: if you don’t activate the game while it’s free, it will simply disappear from the offer and you will have to buy it. So even if you don’t plan to play it right away, it makes sense to activate it and keep it in your library for later.
