If you didn’t buy a Galaxy Z Fold7 or Galaxy Z Flip7, which come with One UI 8 pre-installed, you’re waiting like most others. Samsung has now finally confirmed when you can expect it – the stable version will arrive on the first phones in September 2025. A specific date hasn’t been announced yet, but at least we know it won’t take forever.

Galaxy S25 first in line

In an official blog post dedicated to various aspects of One UI 8, Samsung confirmed that it will start distributing the update from September. The process will kick off with the Galaxy S25 series, which, as the flagship, deserves priority. Only then will the update expand to other supported devices.

For Galaxy S25 owners, this means that the wait is a matter of weeks. Samsung has so far released five beta versions for this series, and according to fresh reports, a sixth is in the works. This very fact could have raised concerns that the final release would be delayed.

Sixth beta doesn’t spoil anything

When information about a sixth beta in preparation emerged, pessimists began to calculate that Samsung would miss the September deadline. The logic was simple – more betas mean more problems to solve, which could push the final release to a later date. History teaches us that similar scenarios are not uncommon for Samsung.

This time, however, it looks different. Samsung insists on the September deadline, despite another test version on the horizon. Either the sixth beta is just a cosmetic matter for polishing the final details, or Samsung is truly on track and wants to release One UI 8 as planned.

Who will wait longer

For other supported devices, the situation will traditionally be more complicated. After the Galaxy S25, it will likely be the turn of last year’s flagship models, followed by the Galaxy Tab S series tablets, and finally the mid-range. The entire process could extend until the end of the year, so owners of older or cheaper models will have to wait longer.

September is approaching

The good news is that September 2025 is not that far away. While Samsung could have been more specific with the date, at least we have official confirmation of the timeframe. For Galaxy S25 owners, this means that in a few weeks, they will receive the stable version of One UI 8 with all the new features that beta testers are already trying out.

How excited are you for One UI 8?
