Drone manufacturer DJI is bringing its first line of ROMO robotic vacuum cleaners to the Czech Republic. More than two months after the initial introduction, local interested parties can purchase three different models that combine technologies originally developed for drones with exceptionally high suction power. The new products are already in stock at the official DJI e-shop with prices ranging from 29,990 CZK to 41,990 CZK.

Drone technology heading to your homes

All three ROMO series models benefit from dual fisheye cameras and LiDAR technology, which DJI uses in its flagship drones. This navigation system can recognize obstacles with millimeter precision – reportedly including thin objects like playing cards or charging cables. In practice, this means you don’t have to clear small items from the floor before cleaning, as the vacuum cleaner will adjust its route accordingly.

At the heart of all models is a motor with a nine-blade metal fan, which generates a suction power of up to 25,000 pascals. Given the price of individual vacuum cleaners, this is hardly surprising; the manufacturer clearly indicates that it targets more demanding consumers (which, in any case, raises the question of whether it will offer solutions corresponding to the mid-range or lower-end in the future). DJI has also implemented two retractable robotic arms that automatically extend and retract as needed. Thanks to them, the vacuum cleaners can reach corners and along walls where conventional round models fail.

ROMO S: Basic Model for 29,990 CZK

The most affordable ROMO S comes in an elegant white design and is currently available for 29,990 CZK. Despite its more favorable price compared to the other two vacuum cleaners, it offers all key technologies, including drone navigation, 25,000 Pa suction power, and flexible arms. The self-cleaning base uses high-pressure water jets and a large 16mm suction opening that can handle hair and larger debris.

The model features a 164ml water tank directly within the robot’s body, ensuring continuous wet mopping even on large areas. The double brushes are designed to prevent hair entanglement – DJI reports zero entanglement when tested with 1 gram of hair.

ROMO A: Transparent Design for 36,990 CZK

The mid-range model ROMO A costs 36,990 CZK and primarily stands out with its transparent robot cover. This is mainly an aesthetic element, through which DJI apparently aims to evoke a futuristic impression.

Compared to the basic S model, ROMO A additionally offers a special roller brush with bristles and rubber, which is ideal for carpets or floors with a large amount of dirt. The base remains in a white finish.

ROMO P: Flagship Model for 41,990 CZK

The premium model ROMO P can be purchased for 41,990 CZK and its distinctive feature is a completely transparent construction for both the robot and the docking station. DJI refers to this look as a “jellyfish-like” design, which creates a unique visual experience.

ROMO P primarily distinguishes itself from its siblings by the presence of an additional floor freshener tank alongside the standard cleaning agent. This allows you to customize cleaning for different rooms – for example, using a cleaning agent in the kitchen for grease and a freshener in the rest of the household. Another bonus is the UV light in the dust bags for additional disinfection.

Shared Features That Delight

All three models support 55W fast charging, allowing them to fully recharge in 2.5 hours. Control is provided by the DJI Home app, which offers preset cleaning modes and the option to create custom schedules. An interesting feature is the remote video call function via the robot’s camera – allowing you to monitor your home remotely or communicate with family.

DJI also thought of pet owners. A three-stage noise reduction system reduces emptying noise by 80%, so cleaning doesn’t disturb even more sensitive animals. Furthermore, according to the manufacturer, the base can last up to 200 days without maintenance thanks to its self-cleaning system with high-pressure nozzles.
