Do you have a Xiaomi? Beware, these models are losing support! The Chinese giant is now focusing on HyperOS 3 Home News Xiaomi has officially ceased HyperOS 2 development and is shifting all development capacity to HyperOS 3 The new version is expected to bring smoother animations, better system responsiveness, and an improved user interface Nine devices, including Xiaomi 11T Pro and Redmi A1, will receive their last update in September Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 27. 7. 2025 12:30 Advertisement Xiaomi is clear about the direction of its operating system. According to information that appeared in the Xiaomi Feedback application, the Chinese manufacturer has officially ceased development of the current version of HyperOS 2 and has shifted all efforts to the new generation. This new generation is expected to bring significant improvements in two key areas – primarily, the smoothness of animations and overall system responsiveness should be enhanced. End of HyperOS 2 Improvements The information came to light after a user inquired about animation issues in the current HyperOS version. A member of the Xiaomi development team surprisingly replied that it is no longer worth expecting further improvements for HyperOS 2. The reason is simple – all devices eligible for the update have already received it, and the company is now focusing all resources on developing the new generation based on Android 16. „Users should not expect any further updates aimed at improving HyperOS 2,” stated a representative of the development team. „Instead, we are focusing on resolving all known issues directly in HyperOS 3.” What Does HyperOS 3 Promise? According to available information, Xiaomi is focusing on several key areas when developing the new system version: Improved animation fluidity and visual effects Enhanced overall system responsiveness Redesigned user interface elements Optimized user experience Although some of these promises sound quite general, it is clear that the manufacturer is aware of the criticism leveled at the current system version. Interestingly, Xiaomi is reportedly considering renaming its system to HyperOS 26, following Apple’s example, which would reflect the release year. When Will HyperOS 3 Be Released? Unfortunately, at this time, Xiaomi has not provided any specific information regarding the release timeline for HyperOS 3. Therefore, we do not know which phones will receive the update first or when it will happen. Based on previous experience, it can be expected that the first beta version might appear by the end of this year, with a full release in the first quarter of next year. End of Support for Nine Devices In addition to information about the new system version, Xiaomi also revealed that nine devices will soon reach the end of their software support. These phones will receive their last security update in September of this year: Redmi A1 Redmi A1+ Poco C50 Xiaomi 11T Xiaomi 11T Pro Mi 11 Lite 5G NE Mi 11 LE Poco M5 Redmi 11 Prime 4G This is a mix of devices from various price categories – from entry-level models like Redmi A1 to former flagships like Xiaomi 11T Pro. All these phones run on HyperOS 1 or HyperOS 2 with Android 14, and their update cycle is coming to an end. For users of these devices, this means that after the September update, they can no longer expect further security patches or functional improvements. The phones will, of course, continue to function, but over time, security risks or compatibility issues with new applications may arise. Is support ending for your Xiaomi phone too?
