Czech T-Mobile is the first domestic operator to introduce its own AI solution called Magenta AI, which will be part of the Můj T-Mobile application. Customers will thus gain a full-fledged AI assistant capable of helping with common tasks, information retrieval, and answering questions. What can the new assistant do and how does it differ from a regular chatbot?

Perplexity as the foundation, T-Mobile as the wrapper

The new Magenta AI is not developed entirely from scratch. T-Mobile has partnered with an established partner and uses the advanced search engine Perplexity as its technological foundation, which the operator’s customers could previously try in the premium version of Perplexity Pro as part of the Magenta Moments program. Now, this technology is being integrated directly into the operator’s main application and will be available to all T-Mobile customers for free.

What can the assistant do?

Magenta AI is not just an ordinary chatbot. Thanks to the integration of the Perplexity search engine, it should offer comprehensive answers to a wide range of topics. The operator promises that its AI assistant will help not only with inquiries about T-Mobile services but also with common everyday questions – whether it’s tips for trips, finding public transport departures, or inspiration for interesting recipes.

For specific inquiries regarding operator services, a smart routing system is deployed. This system either redirects the user to the existing T-Bot, to a specific location within the application, or, if necessary, directly to a chat with a live assistant, depending on the nature of the query.

Pilot with ambitious plans for the future

Currently, Magenta AI is available in pilot mode, and the operator expects its gradual improvement. In the future, T-Mobile plans to expand the functions of its AI assistant to include working with graphics and sound. The existing T-Bot should also eventually transform into a true smart assistant based on AI technologies.

Concurrently with the introduction of Magenta AI, the Můj T-Mobile application is undergoing modifications to make it more user-friendly and accessible for users with disabilities.
