Samsung launched the A37 series in spring with a recommended price of 10,499 CZK. Since then, the phone has settled on the market, and the Galaxy A37 5G in the 6/128 GB version can now be found from 6,588 CZK. You can check the current price and availability from individual sellers directly on Heureka, as prices for mid-range phones change quite often.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a reliable phone with long-term support and a quality AMOLED display for a reasonable price.
⚠️ Consider if you need a lot of performance for gaming or if you mind the missing memory card slot and charger in the box.
💡 For 6,588 CZK, it’s one of the best value-for-money propositions in the mid-range – you save almost 4,000 CZK compared to the launch price.

Why this phone is interesting

The Galaxy A37 5G targets people who want a modern phone with long-term support but don’t want to pay for a flagship. The main draw is 6 generations of Android updates and 6 years of security patches – this is above average in this price category, as most competitors end around four years. The phone thus has a real chance to remain usable for you even after five years. When you add the price drop to 6,588 CZK, you get a device whose cost per year of operation is very favorable.

Key parameters explained simply

The display is a 6.7″ Super AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and animations feel smooth. Thanks to its high peak brightness (around 1,900 nits) and Vision Booster feature, the screen is easily readable even in direct sunlight. Performance is handled by an octa-core Exynos 1480 processor, complemented in this variant by 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. For everyday use, social media, streaming, and occasional gaming, the performance is sufficient, but don’t expect miracles for the most demanding titles at full details.

The camera setup is dominated by a 50Mpx main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), which is a welcome feature in this class – stabilization helps especially in low light and with video. It is complemented by an 8Mpx ultrawide lens and a rather supplementary 5Mpx macro sensor, while the front features a 12Mpx selfie camera. Power is supplied by a 5,000 mAh battery, which Samsung states provides two days of typical use.

Practical aspects: connectivity, durability, features

The body has IP68 resistance certification, meaning it can withstand immersion in water, and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and back. With a thickness of 7.4 mm and a weight of 196 grams, it is a well-crafted device. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC for contactless payments, and the phone also features stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint reader. The software runs on Android 16 with the One UI 8.5 overlay and a suite of Awesome Intelligence AI features, such as object erasure from photos or Circle to Search.

What to watch out for

There are a few compromises, and it’s fair to mention them. The Exynos 1480 processor is not new – the same chip powered last year’s Galaxy A55, so the generational leap in performance is rather modest. The charger is not included in the package, although the phone supports 45W charging (60% in about 30 minutes), so you will have to purchase an adapter separately. There is also no memory card slot, so you are limited to the built-in 128 GB, and the USB-C port is only version 2.0, which means slower data transfer to a computer. The 5 Mpx macro sensor is more for show than a full-fledged lens.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

If you are looking for a reliable mid-range phone with long software support, a quality AMOLED display, and a decent main camera, the Galaxy A37 5G for 6,588 CZK is a reasonable choice – especially compared to its launch price of 10,499 CZK. Conversely, if you need maximum performance for gaming, fast data transfer via USB, or expandable storage, it’s worth comparing it with competitors, where you can find more powerful processors for similar money.

For a mid-range phone, is long-term support or higher performance more important to you?
