The red operator Vodafone today officially launched its new mobile application My Vodafone+, which replaces the original version. According to the press release, tens of millions of Czech crowns were invested in its development, involving five international teams. As of today, the application is publicly available on both iOS and Android and primarily brings better security, a personalized dashboard, and the Happy loyalty program.

Security at the level of banking applications

The new My Vodafone+ app is the first operator application in the Czech Republic to offer two-factor authentication (2FA), which you know from online banking. In addition, it supports biometric authentication using facial recognition or fingerprint. Vodafone developed the entire application internally, not with an external supplier, which is intended to ensure maximum control over data security.

Custom-tailored Dashboard

The app’s main screen automatically adapts to your usage style. Instead of a static interface, you will see tiles with features you actually use. If you frequently check data consumption, this information will be prioritized. If you regularly top up credit, a quick top-up shortcut will appear. According to the press release, the development was preceded by several surveys and direct user feedback collection.

Vodafone Happy Loyalty Program

The app includes the Vodafone Happy loyalty program, which already operates in seven countries and is used by 30 million people. It’s not a classic discount generator but a reward system based on personalization. Long-term customers will receive different discounts and benefits than new users, with offers varying according to your preferences and services used.

Smarter Assistant TOBi with Artificial Intelligence

The chatbot TOBi is getting an upgrade in the form of artificial intelligence. It can instantly explain items on an invoice, advise on SIM card replacement, or help with service settings. Thanks to machine learning, TOBi gradually learns from each interaction, and its answers will be more accurate and useful, according to Vodafone. The app is intended to serve as the main point of contact for resolving queries, eliminating the need to call customer service or search for information on the web when dealing with trivial matters.

What the Future Holds

Vodafone is already preparing further features. Soon, it will be possible to verify identity during a call directly in the app, similar to how it works with banks. Fixed internet diagnostics will also be added, which will detect connection problems without the need to call a technician. In the future, the My Vodafone+ app aims to become the single place for managing all operator services – from paying invoices and changing tariffs to resolving technical issues.

The original My Vodafone app will remain in operation for several more months to ensure the smoothest possible transition. Existing users will be gradually prompted to download the new version.
