Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has introduced a new air purifier, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, on its global website. The device stands out primarily with its five integrated sensors and advanced filtration system with UVC sterilization. Theoretically, the new product could arrive in the Czech Republic in the coming months, but we do not yet have official confirmation of its availability here.

Five Sensors for Comprehensive Air Monitoring

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 features five sensors that continuously monitor indoor air quality. In addition to common PM2.5, temperature, and humidity sensors, Xiaomi also adds a dust sensor for detecting larger particles, such as pollen, and a PM1 sensor for the finest particles smaller than 1 micron. These can penetrate deep into the lungs and bloodstream.

The air quality is displayed on a color LCD screen, which uses LED indicators to instantly inform about the current status. The purifier automatically adjusts its performance according to measured values and can effectively cover rooms ranging from 29 to 50 m². With two air changes per hour, it can handle an area of up to 87.5 m² according to the manufacturer.

Five-Stage Filtration with UVC Sterilization

The filtration system combines a primary filter, high-efficiency HEPA filter, activated carbon, UVC light field, and a negative ion generator. The HEPA filter captures 99.98% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, while high-quality columnar activated carbon effectively removes formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (TVOCs).

The integrated UVC module represents a significant innovation – thanks to it, the purifier achieves 99.99% effectiveness against the H1N1 influenza virus within one hour. It shows equally high effectiveness against bacteria such as E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and S. aureus. For allergy sufferers, a significant feature is its 98.11% effectiveness in removing dust mites and pollen within an hour of operation.

443 m³/h Performance and Smart Control

With a performance of 443 m³/h (measured CADR value for particles), the purifier can clean the air in a 10m² room in just 3.5 minutes. It removes formaldehyde with a CADR of 218 m³/h, representing 98% effectiveness within one hour.

The device supports control via the Xiaomi Home app and voice assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Magnetic doors facilitate filter replacement, which lasts 6 to 12 months depending on usage intensity. The removable top cover allows for easy cleaning of the fan and air duct.

Who is the Purifier Suitable For?

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 will be especially appreciated by allergy and asthma sufferers, as it helps remove pollen allergens, dust mites, and pet dander with over 98% effectiveness. Families with small children will benefit from UVC sterilization during flu season. Owners of newly renovated apartments will appreciate its high efficiency in removing formaldehyde from new furniture and paints.

For users seeking the most affordable solution, simpler variants without UVC sterilization and advanced sensors might be more suitable (although Xiaomi has not yet specified how much the new purifier will cost). The five sensors, including PM1, are more of a premium feature than a necessity for average households.

What is Available in the Czech Republic?

While we await the global launch of the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 in the Czech Republic, the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 is currently available here for 4,789 CZK. It offers a performance of 400 m³/h, covers rooms up to 48 m², and has a noise level as low as 32.1 dB in night mode. It features a touch OLED display, supports voice assistant control, and its HEPA filter captures 99.97% of fine particles.
