Modern TVs are thin, which is nice to look at but a disaster for sound – proper speakers simply don’t fit into such a narrow body. You can now buy the Samsung HW-B400F with code 2026ALZAEXTRA15 for 2,542 CZK, and it’s the cheapest reasonable way to fix it.

👍 Get it if you can’t understand dialogues on your TV and don’t want to deal with a large setup or a separate subwoofer.
🤔 Hesitate if you expect surround sound – this is a two-channel model without Dolby Atmos.
💰 Price: 2,542 CZK for a soundbar with HDMI eARC and a woofer directly in the body.

No subwoofer, no cable chaos

The main advantage of the B400F is its simplicity. The woofer is built directly into the soundbar, so you don’t have to look for space for a separate box or deal with another power outlet – you place it under the TV and you’re done. Connection is via HDMI with eARC support, which means volume control with the TV remote and automatic power-on with the TV, or via optical cable or Bluetooth from your phone. A dedicated remote control is also included in the package.

It handles audio formats like Dolby Digital and DTS, so it decodes movies from Netflix and Blu-ray discs without problems, and its 64 cm width fits under TVs from approximately 43 inches upwards. On Alza, the soundbar currently has a rating of 4.3 out of 5, though only from nine customers.

What you can’t expect for two and a half thousand

Let’s be honest: this is an entry-level model, and it shows. A 2.0 configuration means you won’t get surround sound – no Dolby Atmos, no rear speakers, just better stereo. The bass from the built-in woofer is better than from a TV, but you won’t find the deep rumble that makes people buy separate subwoofers. Furthermore, Bluetooth 4.2 is an older version today.

None of this changes the basic idea, however. The difference between the sound of a thin TV and any decent soundbar is huge – greater than the difference between this soundbar and a model costing eight thousand. If you haven’t addressed your sound yet, this is the cheapest upgrade (within the Samsung ecosystem) with the biggest impact.

Do you have a soundbar with your TV, or are the built-in speakers enough for you?
