A magnetic power bank for your backpack and a charging stand for your nightstand are usually two different things, and thus two purchases. The Epico UltraBase can do both and will charge your phone, watch, and headphones. In spring, it cost 2,299 CZK, later it was discounted to 1,899 CZK, and now there’s been a significant drop. With code ALZADNY50, you can get it for 800 CZK, which is 1,499 CZK cheaper than in spring.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you want one item for both your nightstand and travel, and your phone adheres to magnetic chargers, either on its own or with a case.
⚠️ Consider that the watch output is only for Apple Watch, and the phone charges wirelessly at a maximum of 15 W.
💡 For 800 CZK, you’ll get it for roughly a third of its spring price.

2,299 CZK in spring, now eight hundred

The UltraBase was discounted in stages. In spring, it sold for 2,299 CZK, then dropped to 1,899 CZK, which is also the lowest price Alza listed for the period before the current promotion. Now it’s offered for 1,599 CZK, and the code ALZADNY50 halves that amount. The result? The power bank with stand costs 800 CZK, 1,099 CZK less than before the promotion.

Phone, watch, headphones, and something else via cable

The 4-in-1 designation refers to four outputs. The phone attaches magnetically and charges wirelessly; the manufacturer states up to 15 W for Qi2 devices and 7.5 W for iPhone. Next to it is a separate 5W charger for Apple Watch, a pad for headphones with a wirelessly charged case (also 5 W), and a USB-C port that, according to the manufacturer, can handle up to 20 W in both directions. Through it, you can charge other devices and the power bank itself via cable.

It’s important to note that the power is divided. When charging all four devices simultaneously on the UltraBase, the manufacturer states a total of 12 W, so nothing will charge lightning fast. Additionally, during wireless charging, some energy is lost as heat, so from 8,000 mAh, expect roughly one full charge for a typical phone.

A stand at home, 210 grams in your backpack on the go

The whole trick is in the hinge. When unfolded, the UltraBase serves as a stand, on which you can place your phone vertically or horizontally, for example, to see the time from bed or notifications on your desk. When folded, it becomes a power bank that, at 210 grams, won’t get in the way in your backpack.

The body is made of aluminum, which, according to the manufacturer, is supposed to dissipate heat better, and the battery status is shown by an LED indicator. A 30-centimeter USB-C cable is included in the package. The manufacturer does not mention a wall adapter in the package contents, so you should probably count on using your own.

What can you use with Android?

The UltraBase’s features are primarily aimed at Apple owners. The watch charger is designed only for Apple Watch (Series 6 and newer, and Ultra models), so you won’t be able to charge Galaxy Watch or Pixel Watch on it. Those who wear Samsung watches will find a more suitable solution, for example, in the Cubenest 3-in-1 charger, which charges Galaxy Watch along with a phone.

For phones, the magnet is key. Only some Android phones have it directly in their body, specifically Pixels 10 and 11, for example. For others, a magnetic case will help; without it, you won’t be able to keep the phone on the stand or the back of the power bank. The headphone pad, however, can be used with any model whose case supports wireless charging, and the USB-C port works with everything.

For 800 CZK, even an unused watch output can be forgiven

An iPhone owner with an Apple Watch will get the most out of the UltraBase, as it will charge their entire set at once. For 800 CZK with code ALZADNY50, however, it also makes sense with Android if you have a phone with magnets or a magnetic case and are looking for a nightstand stand that you can also take on the go. The watch output will then remain unused. But when the whole thing costs 1,499 CZK less than in spring, I’d put up with it. Those who primarily need fast charging or a large capacity will likely opt for a classic power bank with a cable.

Do you charge your phone wirelessly overnight, or do you stick with a cable?
