Exclusively: Xiaomi Clip open-ear headphones are coming to Europe. We have an idea of their price in the Czech Republic

This year, Xiaomi introduced its first open-ear headphones, but only in the Chinese market. Now, we are the first to bring information about their planned launch in European markets. We managed to find Xiaomi Clip in the offering of the Slovak retailer Planeo, and Czech Alza is also preparing their product pages. Those who don’t like silicone ear tips or want to hear cars around them while running should pay attention.

Xiaomi Clip could cost 3,399 CZK in the Czech Republic

The Slovak store Planeo has the headphones in its catalog in four colors: Sand Gold (zlatá), Pearl White (bílá), Frost Purple (fialová), and Graphite Black (černá). For all of them, it states the same price of 137.90 euros, which is approximately 3,350 Czech crowns (converted). They cannot be ordered yet, the goods are listed as “on order,” and the seller wants to specify the delivery date later.

Czech Alza is also already preparing product pages for Xiaomi Clip. This was revealed by the Google search engine, which managed to index them, including the alleged Czech price of 3,399 CZK. However, the headphones cannot be viewed directly in Alza’s catalog yet.

In China, the headphones cost 849 yuan, which converts to about 2,700 CZK. After adding VAT, the local prices we uncovered more or less correspond to this amount.

What will Xiaomi Clip offer?

Each earbud weighs only 5.5 grams and is held on the ear by a memory titanium arc that embraces the auricle’s cartilage. The ear canal thus remains open, and you hear your surroundings just as you would without headphones, which will be appreciated by runners and cyclists, for example. The transparent acoustic sphere, through which the internal structure is visible, attracts attention. According to the manufacturer, the headphone body is dust and water resistant according to IP57.

Inside, an 11mm dynamic driver plays, and the headphones connect to a device via Bluetooth 5.4. Xiaomi promises 9 hours of listening on a single charge and up to 38 hours with the charging case; they charge via USB-C. Three microphones are ready for calls, supplemented by a bone sensor designed to separate your voice from ambient noise.

The list of parameters at Slovak Planeo only mentions SBC and AAC among supported codecs. It says nothing about the LHDC 5.0 codec, which the Chinese version boasts. Whether the European headphones truly lack it, or if the specification list is merely incomplete, will only be confirmed by the manufacturer during the official presentation.

In China, the headphones also boast real-time translation into 21 languages, including Czech, a dictaphone with transcription and AI-powered summarization, or the Super Xiao Ai assistant. However, the latter is tied to the Chinese ecosystem, and it is not yet clear which smart features will make it to Europe. The Chinese features also include simultaneous connection to two devices, gesture control, and locating the case via the Apple Find My network.
