After we exclusively brought you the details about the global model of Xiaomi Watch 5 as the first in the world, we are coming with another catch. This time it’s about the wireless headphones Redmi Buds 8 Pro, which Xiaomi introduced in China at the end of last month. As one of the domestic retailers prematurely revealed, the new product will soon arrive on the Czech market and could cost 1,799 CZK. It could officially be launched together with the Xiaomi 17 series, Pad 8 tablets, and the aforementioned watches.

Cheaper than its predecessor?

The Redmi Buds 8 Pro will thus complement the already sold Redmi Buds 8 Lite model in the Czech Republic, which targets less demanding users. If the premium version indeed costs 1,799 CZK, as indicated by the listing in that e-shop’s catalog, it would even be cheaper than the previous generation. That one cost 1,999 CZK at launch.

The fact remains, however, that we also found the Redmi Buds 8 Pro on the websites of other less significant retailers, where they were listed with prices of 1,857 CZK and 1,924 CZK. Personally, however, I would give the most weight to the amount of 1,799 CZK.

The premium Pro version will be available in three color variants: Obsidian Black, Glacier Blue, and Cloud White.

Triple drivers for more demanding listeners

The main draw of the Redmi Buds 8 Pro is its design with triple coaxial drivers. This consists of an 11mm bass driver with a titanium diaphragm and a pair of 6.7mm piezoelectric ceramic treble drivers. The headphones feature Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification and support the LDAC codec, which allows for high-quality audio transmission. Dolby Audio support for spatial sound is also included.

Hybrid noise cancellation with 20 levels

The headphones utilize hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) technology with attenuation up to 55 dB. The system operates in the 5 kHz frequency band and offers 20 levels of adjustable attenuation depth, allowing you to customize the noise cancellation intensity according to your environment. Xiaomi states that compared to the previous generation, the average noise cancellation depth has improved by approximately 20%.

Battery life and connectivity

The headphones themselves, with a 54mAh battery, can last approximately 8.5 hours of listening with ANC off. The charging case with a capacity of 480 mAh extends the total battery life to 35 hours. Charging the headphones takes less than an hour, while the case charges within two hours via USB-C.

Bluetooth 5.4 with a 10-meter range handles connectivity. The headphones support Google Fast Pair for quick pairing and allow simultaneous connection to two devices, so you can seamlessly switch between your phone and laptop.

Three microphones with AI and playback modes

For phone calls, there are 3 AI-supported microphones that suppress ambient noise. Xiaomi states wind resistance up to 12 m/s. The software offers five playback modes: Standard, Music, Video, Ebook, and Game.

The weight of a single earbud is just 5.3 grams, and the total weight including the case is 41.6 grams.
