Exemplary Support! Samsung releases One UI 8.5 update for three smartphones and a tablet

If we were to point to Android smartphone manufacturers who take the best care of their products, Samsung would undoubtedly be in our selection. This South Korean giant has made significant strides in software support in recent years. And not just in speed, but especially in scope, with the manufacturer regularly updating even inexpensive phones and providing extended support for more expensive ones. Now, Samsung is releasing the One UI 8.5 update in its final form for two older foldables and an inexpensive smartphone and tablet from the Galaxy A series.

One UI 8.5 update will be received by…

Specifically, the South Korean company has begun the global rollout of the final version of One UI 8.5 for the models Samsung Galaxy Fold 5, Galaxy Flip 5 and the aforementioned Galaxy A26. However, the manufacturer is not forgetting tablets either. This time, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ received it. In this case, however, the updated One UI 8.5 running on Android 16 is currently only spreading within the South Korean market. But a rapid expansion can be expected.

The older foldable models have already received the latest version of the overlay in their home market, and within a few days, the update’s reach is expanding globally. The newer, but significantly cheaper model, then received the One UI 8.5 update in Guatemala, and now it is awaited which other regions the update wave will hit next. The Galaxy A26 thus complements the more equipped models Galaxy A36 and A56, which started receiving One UI 8.5 a few days ago.

What will One UI 8.5 bring?

The One UI 8.5 update traditionally includes improvements related to AI integration. This, of course, varies depending on the capabilities of the given model. From an improved Circle to Search supplemented with the ability to recognize background music in videos, through various AI filters and live effects in the gallery, to enhanced image generation based on sketches.

A major new feature is Storage Share, which allows you to access the storage of your connected Samsung Galaxy devices through the My Files app. You can also access files on your phone or tablet from a smart TV. Last but not least, the manufacturer in the One UI 8.5 update also pays attention to redesigning some design elements of the overlay, including a redesigned quick panel and, of course, new animations.
