First information about the Pixel 11a has leaked. What new features will Google's affordable phone bring?

Google plans to introduce the core of the Pixel 11 series, namely the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro (XL), and Pixel 11 Pro Fold models, as early as August 12. However, the internet giant traditionally introduces the most affordable representative separately, most likely in the spring of next year. Now we have the first leak of its specifications. What new features can we (most likely) expect from the Pixel 11a?

Tensor G6 on board

Perhaps the biggest surprise in the mentioned leak is the chipset used. While this year’s Pixel 10a stuck with a generation-old Tensor G4, the new Pixel 11a is expected to bring the Tensor G6 directly, just like the rest of the model series. Certainly, it is quite probable that it will be a weaker version of this chipset, similar to what happened with the Google Pixel 9a, nevertheless, we will likely still get a greater improvement than we originally expected. The new chipset should also include a new modem from Mediatek, and the leak also mentions the use of the Titan M3 security chip.

As with its predecessors, the chipset will be accompanied by 8 GB of RAM, which is quite expected given the situation in the memory market. If we had to guess, we would say that the Pixel 11a – unlike the base Pixel 11 – will stick with 128GB of storage as the base. Similarly, the display is expected to remain at 6.3″ with FullHD+ resolution. The display is also rumored to have slightly better full-screen and peak brightness, specifically 2,250 and 3,350 nits.

Regarding the battery, the leak mentions 4,870mAh as the “minimum capacity.” Let’s hope that the reality will be somewhat better, at least like the Pixel 10a, which has a 5,100 mAh battery. A change is also expected for the front selfie camera. Unfortunately, we don’t have more information here, but realistically, we can hope for at least a slight improvement. We have no information about the rear cameras yet, but given the minimal expected novelties across the Pixel 11 series, we wouldn’t be surprised if they remained completely identical to the previous model. The Pixel 11a should then be available in black, green, purple, and silver color variants.
