Bose has just launched the second generation of its QuietComfort Ultra Headphones on the Czech market. The new model builds on the successful first model from 2023 and brings several significant improvements. Customers can choose from three color variants – black, white, or metallic silver – all at a uniform recommended price of 11,990 CZK (however, on Alza they cost only 11,490 CZK).

Smarter Noise Cancellation with ActiveSense Technology

The second generation of headphones features improved ActiveSense technology, which automatically reacts to unexpectedly loud sounds in the surroundings. The algorithm continuously adapts to the environment and adjusts the cancellation intensity to maintain a natural listening experience. The headphones operate in two basic modes – Quiet Mode for maximum isolation and Aware Mode for allowing ambient sounds to pass through.

Furthermore, the sound is optimized by the CustomTune feature, which calibrates reproduction according to the shape of each user’s ear. This allows the headphones to provide a personalized audio experience without the need for complex adjustments.

New Cinema Mode and Spatial Audio

Among the most interesting new features is the Cinema Mode, which creates a cinema-like experience when watching movies and series. The technology distributes dialogues, music, and effects spatially to sound authentic. The Bose 360° Sound feature then places sound around the listener, creating the impression that music is coming from different directions.

For demanding listeners, Bose has added the option of connecting via USB-C Audio, which ensures lossless digital audio transmission. Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.4 with support for SBC and AAC codecs.

Battery Life and Practical Features

The headphones offer a battery life of up to 30 hours during regular listening, and 23 hours with active spatial audio. When the battery is depleted, just 15 minutes of charging provides 2.5 hours of listening time. Built-in sensors automatically pause playback when removed from the head and resume it when put back on.

Control combines physical buttons with a touch panel on the right earcup. Through the Bose Music app, you can adjust the equalizer, create custom sound profiles, or change the level of noise cancellation. The design combines aluminum, synthetic leather, and plastic with fiberglass technology, while padded earcups ensure comfort even during all-day wear.

Comparison with the First Generation

Compared to the original QuietComfort Ultra Headphones from 2023, the second generation received several key improvements. ActiveSense technology now better smooths out noise peaks, Cinema Mode is entirely new, and the microphones for calls have been significantly enhanced. The headphones also offer faster startup and more power-efficient modes for longer battery life.

The core remains the same – support for Quiet and Aware Mode, Bose Immersive Audio spatial sound, and CustomTune technology. The price has slightly increased compared to the first generation, which currently sells for approximately 10,500 CZK.

Would you buy Bose headphones for almost 12 thousand CZK?
