Flagship performance, mid-range price. Xiaomi 15T Pro breaks all the rules

In recent years, Xiaomi has built a reputation as a company that can offer premium performance at a fraction of the competition’s price. The T series has always targeted customers who want near-flagship features but without the flagship price. This year’s Xiaomi 15T Pro takes this principle even further – it offers the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a chipset from last year’s flagship generation, yet it costs only 15,499 CZK on promotion. However, from October 21st, the price will jump to 18,990 CZK, so those who hesitate should decide quickly.

Dimensity 9400+ approaches flagships

Under the hood of the Xiaomi 15T Pro beats the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, an improved variant of last year’s flagship chipset. It is a 3nm chip with eight cores – one powerful Cortex-X925 at 3.63 GHz, three Cortex-X4 at 3.3 GHz, and four efficient Cortex-A720 at 2.4 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Immortalis-G925, which in tests challenges the Adreno 830 from Snapdragon 8 Elite.

In the Geekbench 6 benchmark, the phone achieved a score of 2,630 points in single-core and 7,998 points in multi-core tests. This places it just below the level of flagships with Snapdragon 8 Elite, but significantly ahead of last year’s 14T Pro model with Dimensity 9300+. In the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme graphics test, the phone scored 5,953 points, which is again a very respectable result – close to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra with a Qualcomm chip.

Memory and storage without compromise

Xiaomi decided not to cut corners with the 15T Pro. All variants offer 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which is the fastest memory currently available. There are three storage capacities to choose from: 256 GB, 512 GB, and even 1 TB, all of the UFS 4.1 type. This means fast game loading, smooth switching between applications, and no waiting when installing large files.

Games run smoothly, but the phone heats up

During two weeks of testing, I played Genshin Impact, BGMI, and Call of Duty: Warzone on the Xiaomi 15T Pro. All titles ran at high graphics settings without stuttering or frame rate drops. Call of Duty: Mobile even supports a 120 Hz / 120 fps mode, which looks great on a display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

A minor complication arises after prolonged gaming. The phone noticeably heats up, especially around the aluminum frame and in the camera area. After an hour-long Genshin Impact gaming session, I measured a temperature of around 45 °C, which is already on the edge of comfort. Although Xiaomi integrated a larger 3D IceLoop vapor chamber (12% larger than in the 14T Pro), the phone still heats up under long-term load. Personally, it doesn’t bother me too much, but it needs to be mentioned.

On the other hand, for casual gaming for 30–45 minutes, it’s perfectly fine. The phone doesn’t slow down, the game doesn’t lag, and the experience is genuinely good. Heat mainly manifests during benchmarks or extremely long gaming marathons, which most users will probably never experience.

Video editing and demanding apps? No problem

The Xiaomi 15T Pro isn’t just about gaming. I also tried editing 4K video in CapCut on it, and the phone handled it without issues. Exporting a two-minute video with transitions, text, and effects took approximately 2 minutes and 20 seconds, which is a very respectable time, fully comparable to my iPhone 17 Pro. During the editing itself, the phone performed smoothly, the preview ran in real-time, and I didn’t notice any lags or slowdowns.

The phone performed similarly well when working with photos. AI tools in the gallery allow for object removal, background blurring, or sky changes. While not as perfect as on Samsung, it’s sufficient for most scenarios. The advantage is that processing happens directly on the phone, so you don’t need an internet connection.

Battery lasts two days, charging is lightning fast

The 5,500 mAh capacity is slightly above average for a mid-range phone (although the 15T Pro is more of a flagship at a mid-range price). Nevertheless, in tests, the phone achieved over 24 hours of continuous web browsing, which is a brutal result. The phone handled video playback for almost 13 hours and gaming for over 12 hours. In real-world use, this translates to two days of battery life with typical usage, which in my case means using social media, taking photos, and browsing the web.

With more intensive use – streaming, photography, gaming – the phone easily lasted a full day with plenty of reserve. My screen-on time was around 10.5 hours, which is an excellent result. And when the battery runs out, 90W fast charging brings your phone back to life in less than 45 minutes. From zero to 50% takes only 21 minutes.

Compared to last year’s model, Xiaomi reduced the charging power from 120 W to 90 W, but this is still significantly faster than the iPhone 17 or Galaxy S25. Furthermore, the phone also supports 50W wireless charging, although you need a proprietary Xiaomi charger to achieve maximum performance. No charger is included in the package, which is a shame, but unfortunately, it’s no longer an exception today.

Great price/performance ratio, but you need to hurry

The Xiaomi 15T Pro is an excellent phone at a reasonable price. If you catch the promotional offer by October 21st, you’ll get a device with flagship performance for 15,499 CZK. That’s truly a fair price for what the phone offers.
