This deal is extreme even for large TVs. The TCL 85X11K launched last year for 149,990 CZK, then dropped to 114,990 CZK, and now with code 2026ALZAEXTRA35 it costs 74,744 CZK — roughly half of its introductory price.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a giant premium home cinema with excellent contrast, brightness, and 144 Hz for movies, sports, and next-gen consoles.
⚠️ Consider that 85″ is truly large — it needs plenty of space, distance from the couch, two-person installation, and a solid wall.
💡 For 74,744 CZK you get a flagship Mini LED for half its original price

Why this TV is interesting now

The whole story lies in the price difference. The TCL 85X11K is a flagship model — meaning the best the brand offers in Mini LED. When such a TV drops from 149,990 CZK to 74,744 CZK, you get a top-tier picture for a price at which you’d otherwise buy a significantly more modest (or smaller) model. Who does this make sense for? People who want a wall-sized home cinema — for movies, sports, and gaming on PS5 and Xbox — and who were previously deterred by a price over one hundred thousand. Now that threshold is tens of thousands lower, even though the TV is still very expensive.

Key parameters

The heart of the picture is a QD-Mini LED panel with up to 10,368 dimming zones. In practice, this means the TV can illuminate and dim light in thousands of small areas separately — resulting in deep blacks next to brilliantly bright areas without a significant “halo” effect, thus a picture close to OLED, but with much higher brightness (up to 6500 nits). This is a difference you’ll appreciate especially with HDR movies and in a bright room where cheaper TVs struggle. The Quantum Dot layer adds an enormous color gamut.

For gamers, the native 144 Hz refresh rate and full HDMI 2.1 features (four ports), VRR, ALLM, and FreeSync Premium Pro are key — motion in games and sports is perfectly smooth without tearing. The TV supports all HDR formats including Dolby Vision and is certified as IMAX Enhanced. Sound is handled by a 120W Bang & Olufsen tuned system with a built-in subwoofer and Dolby Atmos — unexpectedly full sound for a TV, though for a true home cinema, I would still recommend a soundbar. It runs on Google TV with voice control, Chromecast, and AirPlay 2.

Practical aspects: size, installation, and space

Here’s something you need to sort out before you click buy: 85 inches is a huge TV (diagonal over 215 cm). This isn’t a piece you can just put on a dresser — you need a wide surface or a solid wall and a VESA 400×400 mount. Also, count on sufficient distance from the couch; for an 85″ panel, you should sit about 3 meters or more away, otherwise instead of a “cinema,” you’ll mostly see pixels and be craning your neck. Measure your room beforehand.

The second practical aspect is handling. A TV of this size is heavy and bulky, so unpacking and installation can only be done by two people. Fortunately, the package includes a wall mount and a stand with adjustable height (to accommodate a soundbar under the TV) as well as a cable organizer. If you’re considering wall mounting, consider professional installation. Additionally, Alza offers delivery and carrying for large appliances.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you have a smaller living room or a short distance from the couch, 85 inches is unnecessarily (and uncomfortably) large — opt for a smaller diagonal. Similarly, if you primarily watch in a dark room and want absolutely perfect blacks without the slightest halo, OLED is a more natural choice for you (at the cost of lower brightness). And whoever is looking for a cheap TV for casual viewing will pay for technologies they won’t use here. However, for home cinema enthusiasts with enough space who want maximum picture quality and 144Hz gaming, this price is exceptional.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

The TCL 85X11K is a flagship home cinema at a fraction of its original price. For 74,744 CZK with code 2026ALZAEXTRA35, you get an 85″ QD-Mini LED with thousands of dimming zones, 6500 nits brightness, 144 Hz, full console features, and Bang & Olufsen sound — all for half the price the model launched at. The main “catch” isn’t in quality, but in size: you need to have space for it and someone to help with installation. Given how deeply the price has dropped, it’s unlikely to go lower anytime soon — and discontinued stock of a flagship model won’t last forever. If you’re considering a large premium TV, this is the right moment.

Would you take a giant 85″ Mini LED with high brightness, or rather a smaller OLED with perfect blacks for the same money?
