A week after Samsung released One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 series, it’s now time for foldable phones and last year’s flagships. Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra are receiving the stable version of the new system based on Android 16. Surprisingly, in the first wave, the update is also heading to the Galaxy S24 FE, which has received some features it previously lacked.

As is customary for Samsung, the rollout begins in South Korea. Beta testers who tried the system in previous months are given priority, but the update is quickly reaching regular users as well. Global release, including Europe and the Czech Republic, is a matter of several days, a maximum of weeks.

This time, Samsung focused on evolution and fine-tuning details. One UI 8 brings smoother animations, better customization options, and most importantly, expanded AI features.

Owners of the Galaxy S24 FE have finally received the Now Brief feature. This is a smart widget on the lock screen that displays personalized information – from weather and calendar to recommendations based on your habits. Until now, this feature was reserved only for more expensive models, but Samsung has now made it available for the FE variant as well.

True, the S24 FE still doesn’t get all the features of its more expensive siblings. Some advanced AI tools remain exclusive to the S24+ and Ultra, but the core of the new features is the same across the entire lineup.

You can manually check for the update in Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it’s not showing up yet, don’t worry – Samsung is gradually releasing the update in waves, and it should arrive in the Czech Republic during next week.

How excited are you for One UI 8?
