Gaming monitors under two thousand usually stop at 144 Hz and poor color reproduction. You can now buy Xiaomi G24i for 1,899 CZK instead of 2,699 CZK and it offers 180 Hz and an IPS panel with 99% sRGB coverage – a combination that makes it a usable monitor even outside of gaming.

One hundred eighty hertz and colors that haven’t faded

The combination of 180 Hz and 1 ms response time is exactly what you want for games like CS2, Valorant, or Fortnite – the image is smooth, aiming is more precise, and fast movements don’t blur. FreeSync takes care of synchronization with the graphics card, so screen tearing disappears. The fundamental difference compared to the cheapest gaming monitors, however, is the panel: IPS with 99% sRGB coverage means accurate colors and wide viewing angles, while cheap VA and TN panels at this price distort colors. Practically, this means you can also edit photos or watch a movie on the G24i without the image appearing flat.

Connectivity is handled by HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 (HDMI cable is included), the monitor can be tilted and supports VESA 75 × 75 for a mount. It also features a blue light filter for longer sessions. On Alza, it currently has a rating of 5 out of 5, but only from four customers.
