Garmin Fenix E, this year’s special addition to the flagship family of models, which is priced lower than the standard Fenix 8, has received a significant discount at Alza as part of the ongoing Black Friday promotions. The 47mm version in Slate Gray Steel/Black Band is now available for 11,990 CZK, whereas upon its market introduction this summer, it cost 19,990 CZK. According to data from Heureka, this is the best offer to date.

AMOLED Display with Military-Grade Durability

Garmin Fenix E features a 1.3″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 416 × 416 pixels, protected by hardened Corning Gorilla Glass. The bezel is made of stainless steel, while the watch body is composed of fiber-reinforced polymer. The watch meets U.S. military durability standards MIL-STD-810H for temperature, shock, and water. Water resistance reaches 100 meters, so you can swim and dive with the watch without worries. However, some might miss the flashlight, which Garmin decided not to integrate into this model.

The display can be set to Always On mode for continuous time display or to a power-saving mode with automatic wake-up by gesture. Control combines the touchscreen with five physical buttons that also work underwater.

For precise navigation, the watch utilizes GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo satellite systems with a multi-channel Multiband receiver. Built-in ABC sensors include a barometric altimeter, compass, and depth gauge. The memory contains pre-installed TopoActive topographic maps with contour line display, as well as maps of 43,000 golf courses and 2,000 ski resorts worldwide.

The watch supports the dynamic round-trip routing feature, which suggests routes leading back to the starting point based on the entered distance. Routes can be planned directly on the watch, in the Garmin Connect mobile app, or transferred from third-party applications like Mapy.com.

Sport Profiles and Training Features

Garmin Fenix E includes preloaded profiles for running, cycling, swimming, golf, hiking, skiing, triathlon, and dozens of other sports. Each profile has specific settings and functions tailored to the given activity. For runners, advanced metrics such as cadence, stride length, ground contact time, or vertical oscillation are available.

The watch offers daily training recommendations based on current fitness, adaptive training plans from Garmin Coach, the PacePro feature for race strategy, or ClimbPro with information on upcoming ascents. Also included are animated workouts for cardio, strength training, yoga, and Pilates displayed directly on the screen.

Continuous Health Monitoring

The watch measures heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen saturation, and respiration rate 24 hours a day. Advanced sleep tracking analyzes individual phases, including REM sleep, and provides a quality score. The Body Battery feature displays the body’s remaining energy on a scale of 0-100 points.

Upon waking, you receive a personalized morning report with a training readiness score, based on sleep quality, recovery, and training load. The watch also monitors stress, provides breathing exercises, and records short naps throughout the day.

16-Day Battery Life and Smart Features

The battery lasts up to 16 days in smartwatch mode with the Always On display turned off. With GPS and music enabled, the watch lasts 15 hours; in power-saving GPS mode, up to 40 hours. The watch supports Garmin Pay contactless payments, a music player with offline listening for Spotify, Deezer, or Amazon Music, and phone notifications display.

With an Android phone, you can reply to messages directly from the watch. The straps use the QuickFit 22mm system for quick, tool-free replacement. A Czech interface and the Garmin Connect app in Czech are a given.

Who are Fenix E ideal for?

Garmin Fenix E represents an entry-level model of the premium Fenix series with almost complete features of more expensive versions. The watch will be appreciated primarily by athletes and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a durable watch with long battery life, accurate maps, and advanced training functions. At the current price of 11,990 CZK, it is an interesting alternative to the more expensive Fenix 8 models, which start at 25,000 CZK.

Among the compromises compared to higher-end models are, for example, the use of Gorilla Glass instead of sapphire glass, or the absence of some premium materials like titanium. The Fenix 8 also offers a speaker and microphone for direct calls from the watch. However, for users who want a very well-equipped outdoor watch at an advantageous price, the Fenix E currently seems to be an excellent choice.

Are you considering purchasing the Garmin Fenix E watch at this discounted price?
