Five years ago, a 98″ TV would cost you over 100,000 and often required individual logistics. However, Mini LED and Chinese manufacturers have completely changed the market. The TCL 98C6K priced at 44,993 CZK after entering code ALZADNY25 is a TV that brings the size of a projection screen to your living room.

Quick Summary:
Makes sense if you have a large room (at least 4 meters viewing distance) and want a home theater. Mini LED with 512 dimming zones and a complete HDR package (Dolby Vision, HDR10+) handles cinematic content with confidence. For gamers, 4× HDMI 2.1 with 144Hz and FreeSync Premium Pro.
⚠️ Consider that a 98″ TV is not a standard appliance — it requires professional transport, delivery, and installation (Alza offers this service). Only one USB port. Compared to the flagship C8K series, it has 512 zones instead of 2,176, so contrast and halo effect are not at the same level.
💡 For 44,993 CZK you get a 98″ 4K QD-Mini LED panel with HVA technology, anti-reflective surface, 512 dimming zones, Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+, 144Hz native refresh rate, AiPQ Pro processor with AI image enhancement, ONKYO 2.1 sound system 40 W with built-in subwoofer, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and Google TV with Czech applications including Oneplay.

What 98″ means in practice

Ninety-eight inches is a number that doesn’t make much sense at first glance until you place it next to furniture. The TV’s width is 2.18 meters, and its height is 1.25 meters. This means you need a living room wall unit with at least two meters of free space, and the ideal viewing distance is between 4 and 6 meters. It’s not a choice for smaller apartments — but for open-plan layouts, a gaming room, or a larger living room with a couch five meters from the TV, it’s a holy grail.

Practical aspect — installation. VESA 600×500 and a weight of over 50 kg means that wall mounting is not a one-person job. Alza offers a delivery and installation service, which we recommend for such a large set. The second option is to place the TV on a solid bench or TV stand — a removable stand is included in the package, but be aware that it requires sturdy and wide furniture underneath.

Flagship-level features at half the price

The C6K series is positioned below TCL’s flagship C8K series — it has fewer dimming zones, a lower peak brightness, and an older AiPQ Pro processor instead of the latest AiPQ Ultra. In practice, this means the image won’t be quite as striking as on the C8K, but it still performs very well. The Mini LED panel with HVA technology maintains a contrast of 7,000:1, and the anti-reflective surface handles reflections better than a classic glossy panel.

For gamers, the TV offers a full gaming suite — 4× HDMI 2.1, automatic low latency mode (ALLM), variable refresh rate (VRR), and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. Plus a special Game Master interface with presets for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and support for ultra-wide 21:9 and 32:9 formats for PC gamers. The ONKYO sound system with 2.1 configuration and a built-in subwoofer can deliver a decent cinematic experience even without an external soundbar — but for a full 98″ cinema experience, we still recommend connecting an external audio system.

Would you rather choose a 98″ TV for 45,000, or a smaller 75″ TV with a flagship panel for a similar price?
