A 77-inch OLED for less than half its original price – that doesn’t happen every day. The LG OLED77B56 for 41,293 CZK launched last year at 82,490 CZK, gradually dropped below 60,000, and is now at its minimum. And if you have an Alza benefit, the price can drop even significantly lower – we’re realistically talking about a 77″ OLED for under 35,000, which is an unbeatable offer on the Czech market. A rating of 5.0 out of 5 from 103 customers speaks for itself.

Quick Summary:
Makes sense if you want a large OLED with perfect blacks and an excellent gaming mode for a fraction of the usual price – and you mainly watch in the evening or in dim light.
⚠️ Consider if you have a very bright room with direct sunlight – the glossy panel and lower SDR brightness are not ideal for a sunlit living room.
💡 For 41,293 CZK (and significantly less with benefit) you get a 77″ OLED with 4× HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and webOS with a guarantee of 4 updates.

Why OLED and why B5 specifically

The LG B5 is LG’s entry-level OLED TV series for 2025 – positioned below the more expensive C5 series and the flagship G5. In practice, this means you get the same type of WOLED panel as the C5, offering perfect blacks (infinite contrast ratio, no halo around bright objects), excellent color reproduction, and a wide viewing angle. The difference from the C5? The B5 is slightly less bright (approx. 850 vs. 1300+ nits peak HDR brightness) and has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz instead of 144 Hz. For most users, however, this is not a practical problem – 120 Hz is more than sufficient for games and movies.

The α8 AI Gen2 processor optimizes the picture in real-time according to content type, offers AI upscaling of lower resolutions to near-4K quality, and can recognize genres for automatic setting adjustments. HDR support includes HDR10 Pro, HLG Pro, and Dolby Vision (HDR10+ is missing – a format mainly used by Samsung). Filmmaker Mode with ambient light compensation displays films exactly as the director intended.

Gaming: 4× HDMI 2.1 and input lag under 6 ms

All four HDMI ports are full-fledged HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps) – you can connect a PS5, Xbox Series X, and a gaming PC, and utilize 4K at 120 Hz on all of them. Support for VRR, ALLM, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and FreeSync ensures smooth, tear-free visuals. Independent tests measured an input lag of just 5.4 ms at 4K/120 Hz – an excellent value even by gaming monitor standards. The TV received an 8.5/10 rating from RTINGS in the gaming category. Full compatibility with PS5 and Xbox Series X, including 1440p at 120 Hz, is also present.

What 103 Customers Say

A perfect 5.0 out of 5 from 103 customers is unusual for a 77″ TV. The most frequently repeated comments are: perfect blacks, excellent picture, intuitive controls, and unbeatable price/performance ratio. Customers transitioning from Samsung or older LG NanoCell describe the change as a “leap” in quality. Several reviewers mention that in combination with a soundbar, the experience is “like in a cinema.” One customer paid only 26,500 CZK for the TV with cashback and writes “there’s probably nothing to think about.”

The criticisms are minor but recurring: the glossy panel reflects a lot in sunny environments – the picture is great especially in the evening, but during the day in a sunlit room, the TV becomes a mirror. The Magic Remote requires getting used to (motion sensor like on Wii). The built-in speakers (20 W) are decent for news, but for movies and games, customers recommend a soundbar. The stand with feet is stable, but several reviewers recommend wall mounting instead. When turning off, the TV may gently click – this is a normal characteristic of an OLED panel (pixel refresh).

What to Watch Out For

An independent RTINGS test confirms both strengths and limitations. Home theater picture quality: 8.4/10. Blacks are perfect (infinite contrast), colors are accurate and vibrant. However, SDR brightness only reaches approximately 300 cd/m² (real scene) – which is sufficient for dim and normally lit rooms, but in very bright environments, the picture gets lost under reflections. If you have a sunlit living room and mainly watch TV during the day, consider a Mini LED variant instead.

Important information: In 2025, LG discontinued support for DTS formats across its entire lineup – if you play Blu-ray discs with DTS audio through a soundbar, the sound will not pass through. Dolby formats (including Dolby Atmos via eARC) work without issues. HDR10+ is also missing – but this is standard for LG TVs.

Alza Benefit: How to Get Below 35,000

The base price of 41,293 CZK is already significantly below the usual price for a 77″ OLED. But if you have an Alza benefit (loyalty program), the price can drop significantly lower – customers are realistically getting it for under 35,000 CZK. The specific discount depends on your benefit level. It’s therefore worth checking the current price directly on the product detail page after logging in – the difference can be thousands of crowns.

Verdict

The LG OLED77B56 for 41,293 CZK is probably the best buy in the large OLED TV segment on the Czech market right now. From an original 82,000 to less than half – and potentially even less with the benefit. Perfect blacks, 4× HDMI 2.1, 5.4 ms input lag, Dolby Vision, and webOS with a 4-year update guarantee. It’s not the brightest OLED on the market, and the glossy panel will be noticeable in a sunlit room, but if you mainly watch in the evening or in dim light, it’s a hard-to-beat choice for this price. The 5.0 out of 5 rating from 103 customers confirms this.
